Stunning view and magnificient house, it was exactly the same view and house as we saw in the site. We thoroughly enjoyed our 2 night stay and beautiful night view of Christchurch through the 180 degree window on the hill top. We got a lot of help and good tips from Bethany about New Zealand and Christchurch. Hope to see her and her cute and shy boy, Rubin(? I hope I heard it right, because I am not good at English). I recommend this house and host to anyone who wants to experience Christchurch from the top, in every aspect.

My partner and myself stayed for two nigths at this B&B with Bethany. We have mixed experiences. We liked the excellent views on the city and sea from the house and the bed was very comfortable/good. On the other side, we did not feel that the host has onderstood all basic principles of hospitality: in most other places we were welcomed by the host with tea/coffee but not at this place. Next to this our host did not wake up in time the morning we were leaving (although we had agreed on 8.30pm breakfast) so kind of had to make our own breakfast and left with a note. They have a young child that was awake (and crying) the second evening (which is of course normal sometimes for kids but it kept us awake as well). The host mentioned to us she just started, so it might improve over time.

Response from Bethaney:
I find it quite offensive that Petra thinks I do not understand the basic aspects of hospitality. I greeted her and her partner with home-baked muffins, told them they could help themselves to whatever food or drink they would like from the kitchen, laid out a dozen movies for them to choose from when they fancied a quiet night in, let them post ahead some belongs that they left at a previous town, informed them they had left items here and asked what I should do with them etc. I think I was very hospitable and welcoming to her and her partner. On the note that our son cried the second night they were here, I don't think she would have even heard it as we have a large soundproof door that separates our area of the house from the guests area of the house plus all the walls are soundproofed. I actually sent her a note by email immediately the next morning to apologize that I wasn't awake in time to see them off and lay the table for breakfast and let them know it was because out two year old son was sick half the night. I don't think they could possibly have heard him awake in the night. I'm sorry they didn't think I was a hospitable host. Airbnb is a way for me to connect with tourists and make friends, not a business to me, and I often host non-paying guests I meet through (website hidden) or blogging. I've never had a single complaint about my hospitality in fact most guests would say I go above and beyond to make them feel welcome.

This property is truly stunning and the views overlooking Christchurch are not to miss. We were treated to a very clean and modern luxury home up in the hills in an affluent neighborhood. The hosts were excellent; friendly, intelligent and welcoming. Our room and bathroom were both clean, large and modern. Breakfast each morning was fantastic. This is a newly listed property that I would highly recommend checking out. It is likely one you will not forget on your adventures.
