A beautiful home on the way in to the lovely village of Portreath. A 15 minute leisurely stroll to the beach, the woods are on the doorstep and there are plenty of local places to eat and drink if you not enjoying a bbq on the patio. Claire shared lots of information and great ideas for things to do.

We had a lovely time, the house was brilliant and just what we wanted! We were made to feel very welcome on our arrival and given lots of local tips on places to go locally. The location is very good for day trips etc. if being in the water every day is not your thing! Great location near an excellent (walkable) family friendly beach. Must also mention a brilliant surf shop (SurfHQ) who were very patient sorting out our daughters with wet suits etc. If you are looking for a family friendly house, within walking distance of a beach, this is a great choice!

We had a lovely stay at Claire's and both Claire and Dave are great. They were helpful and friendly. The house is just as described. It is in walking distance of the beach, hopefully others will get better weather than we did in June to enjoy the beach and surroundings better. Despiite this we had a great holiday and the house was a wonderful base and Claire and Dave great hosts.

Absolutely fantastic time -Claire and Dave were so friendly and accommodating even arranging banners and balloons on arrival to give the celebration of my fathers 60th birthday an extra special touch. Great location close to great coastal walks and easy access to Cornish landmarks. Highly recommend

Our group of extended family (8) including a five year old and a one year old had a fantastic stay at Claire's lovely cottage. Everything we needed was there including high chair cot toys and baby bowls etc. Plenty of space for us all. Bath and shower were really good. Great location. Walks to the beach and into the woods. Small farm near by where the children liked the animals including reindeer. We did a long bike ride to the other coast and back in a day with a tag a long and baby seat hired from elm farm (also a great place!). Claire was there to greet us with her lovely boy really friendly and helpful and available if we needed. Thanks for our check in goodies. Would definitely all stay again and recommend it to anyone

I live in Portreath, Cornwall, a gorgeous village by the sea. I had been commuting between London and Cornwall but having recently had a baby, I'm now a little more rooted. I love London for its buzz and still enjoy returning to visit family and friends.

London though, is in high contrast to the way of life here in Portreath. Portreath is a traditional village, grown out of the days of mining for used to transport the tin to Wales from our harbour. It is now a village, with a real community, centered around beach life, coastal walking and surrounding nature.

I love the local walks here, through the woodland opening out onto the north cliffs. If you need any advice on local walks, surf conditions or kayak hire, do let me know.

In terms of travel, I used to fly somewhere tropical, book the first night's accommodation and take it from there. Exploring as I go. Now with a 18 month old, let's see how things change!
