About this listing
Very comfortable, well-furnished room with king-sized bed (memory foam mattress) in Victorian main door flat in great location. We've been hosting visitors for many years and are happy to help with anything during your stay!
(NB. Shared bathroom.)
Very good location; central - a 12/15 minute walk into town across the Meadows - but nice and quiet. Your room has lovely open views across a 'free-to-everyone' short hole golf course* to Edinburgh Castle. The room is carpeted and warm, with an efficient, adjustable radiator. Main door apartment so no stairs to negotiate!
*We have clubs you can borrow if you fancy a round or two on the course.
Shared bathroom with v good (thermostatic mixer) shower above bath. Constant hot water.
Help yourself to tea and coffee in the dining kitchen or - in good weather! - take it out into the south-facing garden. (Sorry, no guest cooking in the kitchen.)
Interaction with guests
This is our home so we'll be about for at least some of the time. We've lived here for many years so can help with pretty much anything!
Friendly neighbourhood which residents love and look after. Great amenities; close to shops, cafes, restaurants, museums, University, theatres, cinemas, swimming pool/gym, banks, parks, etc.
Most things are within walking distance of our house but if the weather isn't great there are :
1. Excellent bus services within a couple of minutes' walk.
2. Always taxis available, and you can phone one from anywhere.
(Please note: we don't have a car or a parking permit/space and parking is difficult here.)
Other things to note
Friendly, calm cat.
Continental breakfast which includes: bread and pastries (from local bakery each morning); granola; fruit; fruit juice and tea and coffee.
No outdoor shoes in the house please.
Not too much noise after 11pm please! (We have good relationships with our neighbours - would like to keep it that way!)
No extra guests thank you.
You are welcome to smoke in the garden.
