Desert Pearl is a fully refurbished 32' Avion trailer (think Airstream) with a queen size bed, glass tile counter top with sink, breakfast table, couch and chairs, and excellent air conditioning (note the space is on the power grid, not a solar home). There is also a large bench on opposite side of Avion from the bed that can easily sleep an adult.

The space

Desert Pearl has an outside deck with chairs to enjoy the view of the Chisos Mountains It has a full exterior adobe bathroom with rain showerhead and is in the best central location with a great atmosphere full of plants and flowers to enjoy. It is within a short walk of 3 restaurants and bars in the Ghost town.

We had the best two days at the Desert Pearl in Terlingua. The town was definitely the best place to stay in the Big Bend area - with the three restaurants we visited within 3 minutes of walking distance. Starlight Theatre was our favourite - with delicious food and a lively atmosphere in the evening with cocktails on the balcony. Getting into the park varies on which trails you do - but ours varied from 40 mins to 1 hour. The RV was perfect - so clean, cosy and had everything we needed (including the added bonus of coffee!), with great wifi and a comfy bed. The bathroom was clean and it was so nice coming back from a long day of hiking to a hot, powerful shower. We couldn't recommend Desert Pearl any more highly - definitely stay here if you're visiting Big Bend.

Unique accommodation in a unique town. We loved our stay in the desert pearl. It is located right in the heart of the ghost town and the views are amazing from every angle. Only a few minutes walk to the shop and restaurants and a short drive from Big Bend National Park. Teren and Jeff got in touch promptly with all the info we needed for a smooth stay. It was fab.

Loved it! Gonna have to get my own airstream now. Loved the shower and the little fire pit, no lights so perfect for stargazing.

Our stay in the Desert Pearl was just wonderful. I loved sitting out on the deck in the evenings and looking up at the stars, and one night even thunderstorms in the distance. My other absolute favourite part was the outdoor shower - Refreshing in the daytime heat, and relaxing at nighttime looking up at the stars. The shower in the bathroom was also nice, for those who don't want to brave the outdoor shower! The bed was comfy and the RV was surprisingly spacious. It is walking distance to the Starlight for great food. We also enjoyed breakfast at one of the other local joints. The ghost town is nice for strolling around. It's not far to the entrance to Big Bend Ntl Park, which was the main reason for our trip, and it didn't disappoint! We had a little difficulty finding the place in the dark, because we arrived late and there isn't much lighting in the ghost town. But, we found it after not too long, and in the daylight it's easy to find. It was a little hotter than we expected for late September, so we had to run the window unit and fan while we were in the trailer. Cody still found it a little warm in there during the day time, but of course we didn't want to spend too much time inside during the day anyway!

This is a unique place. It can be highly recommended for any couple that wants to visit the state + national park (do both!) and likes to add an out of the ordinary experience.

Wonderful place to stay in Ghosttown. Close to everything, A/C works great, and we loved the outdoor shower. Bed was incredibly comfy and the outdoor patio was great for sitting and having drinks. Our only regret was that we couldn't stay another night!
