Nestled in soft, picturesque surrounding countryside and overlooking a serene lake in the heart of Trentham, Trentham Lake Villas - Lake View villa allows you to relax and recalibrate within the wondrous joy of silence, solitude and natural beauty.
There are two separate and tastefully decorated villas - 'Lake View' is on ground level (see separate listing for the upstairs villa 'Tree Tops'). Both villas include a queen-size bed fitted with electric blanket, Minijumbuck underlay, premium quality doona, woollen blanket, quality linen and towels, bedside cabinets and lamps, wardrobe, ensuite bathroom with a capacious, nurturing free-standing bath, a kitchenette with sink, microwave and fridge, adjacent dining and sitting room space with television, books and magazines and a private outdoor balcony with stunning views of the lake. Each villa is heated and cooled with minimum effort reverse cycle wall-mounted airconditioners.
Once you've unwound you may be drawn down the peaceful, tree-lined country lane, through the park and over a quaint footbridge to what at first seems like a sleepy village. As you step into the main street you'll soon realise that the faded old shop fronts house some astonishing and diverse businesses. There are top class dining and coffee places, artisan produce, a farmers' market, galleries, boutique nurseries, antiques and unusual wares. Trentham is an old town with great historic character, but enough going on to satisfy the most discriminating visitor.
Interaction with guests
'Lake View' villa is totally separate with its own private patio and entrance. Guests can interact with us as much or as little as they prefer. Our home is situated adjacent to the villas via a transition deck.
Other things to note
Trentham isn't just about good food and boutique stores. It makes a great base for exploring neighbouring towns and attractions. Only short drives away are the hotspots of Daylesford, Kyneton and Woodend. Daylesford is home to the highest concentration of natural mineral springs in Australia and many visitors choose from an array of spa and wellbeing experiences to rejuvenate in these magical waters. Trentham is centrally located between the larger, historic regional centres of Ballarat and Bendigo. Smaller towns of Castlemaine, Maldon, Malmsbury and Glenlyon and well worth a visit.
We encourage guests to enjoy the tranquil, healing natural environment.
Guests are requested not to smoke on the premises and pets are not permitted.
My wife Wendy and I moved to Trentham from Adelaide SA in March 2014. We love this area and spent most of 2014 renovating and extending our property to include two self-contained villas - Tree Tops and Lake view. We both enjoy gardening which has been so rewarding with the high rainfall and excellent soil. We've also explored the surrounding countryside and have discovered so many new and exciting locations which we will willingly share with our guests.
