The 1 bedroom apartment offers intriguing views over Battersea and is flooded with light. It is uniquely positioned just across the road from the iconic Battersea Power Station and is just a few minutes walk from the famous Battersea Dogs and Cats home.

The space

This beautiful one-bedroom apartment with a sit-in kitchen and a separate living room is well-located for a long or short stay in London. The flat is stylishly furnished and has ample space for clothes and luggage. There is one double bed (1.4m) in the bedroom and one large sofa in the living room big enough for one person.

It is located in a 1930s council building and the iconic Battersea Power Station is at the end of the road.

Tate Britain is only a 10-minute bus ride away and you can get to Westminster and Big Ben in 20 minutes. Sloane Square, Sloane Street and the King's Road where the Saatchi Gallery is located is also located 10 minutes away by bus.

Battersea Park Station is a 5 minute walk away and from here there is only one stop to Victoria Station (ideal for Gatwick and Heathrow, but there is also a bus to Stansted and Luton from here). Vauxhall Station is 5 minutes away by bus and here you can take the Victoria Line to Oxford Circus, only four stops away.

The gorgeous Battersea Park by the Thames, with a children's zoo, a p(website hidden) and tennis courts is only 5 minutes walk away.

A convenience store is located across the street, less than a minute from the apartment. There is also a nice pub - The Duchess - at the end of the road.

There is on-street parking which is free (a rarity for London) but space can't be guaranteed even if there tends to be free spaces also a short walk away. Please ask about this when booking.

Guest access

The whole apartment is for the guests to enjoy. There isn't any off-limit areas, as long as everything is cared for.

Interaction with guests

I am just a phone call away and live in East London, but have made arrangements for keys to be picked up and dropped off locally, so chances are you won't see me when staying here.

Other things to note

The pipes in the building are old and as a result the sink in the kitchen is slow to drain.

Positives: The info book was comprehensive and helpful. Communication leading up to our stay was easy and instructions for getting there and obtaining the keys was good. The flat is in a good location for getting to Victoria or Clapham Junction (1 stop on the train each way). Negatives: The photos of the property are slightly misleading as there are no outdoor shots - we were unaware that the flat was in a council style block and we felt uncomfortable in the area. On one of the evenings when we returned to the flat, there were a group of youths outside on the street corner talking and laughing into the early hours of the morning, they weren’t shouting but it was as if they were in the room with us. I think the listing needs to be clear about where the flat is situated. The area is VERY noisy. The trains can be clearly heard and they pass the area often until quite late at night and then again from about 6am. The flat is also under the flight path and the aeroplanes are equally as loud. In addition, if it is hot and you need the window open, the noise is so loud you are unable to sleep. The flat was generally tidy apart from there were lots of black hairs everywhere! we could see them all over the floor and in the bath, and more worryingly, when we inspected our bed, they were under the pillows - this was very off putting and lead us to believe the bed had not been changed. The pillow cases were also dirty and one had an orange stain. Luckily there was clean linen so we had to change it ourselves but this should have all been done for the price we were paying.

This was my first experience of AirBnb and won't be my last. The flat was clean and tidy and as described on the advert. Added bonus that I managed to get free parking outside the pub when I collected the keys. Easy walking distance of Battersea Park which was where we were going for the evening. Nice touch of basic condiments being there such as salt, pepper, tea and coffee etc. Thank you Johanna for making us so welcome and the communication from before our stay to the time we left. Would recommend great value for money. Andrew Wright

Staying at Johanna's apartment has been the perfect decision for us. The flat is easily big enough for three people and has everything you need. By bus, train or underground it's also very easy to reach all parts of London. We also found Johanna very helpful at all times. I'd definitely recommend her apartment to anyone visiting London.

Johanna was very quick to respond to our questions and the flat was just as described. Plenty of space and everything you need in the kitchen etc. Good size for 2 adults and a baby and in a great location as we could walk to most sights very easily. We managed to find a parking space in one of the roads nearby (limited but free on street parking is a real bonus). Would definitely recommend as a great base to explore London especially as it is a lovely walk through the park or along the river into the centre. Thanks Johanna!
