About this listing

The space

We offer a third-floor (no lift) self-contained studio-25m2- which sleeps 2/3 in the old historical town distant 5mns to the beaches and the town center and 15' walk from the railwaystation;
Located in a small hill It has stunning views over the sea (Menton-Monaco), mountains and the tallest pine-tree in Europe! The studio has a separate kitchen, a bathroom with a small bathtub and a washing machine. It is very quiet (no traffic) and will allow you to enjoy a full rest!
You can find many restaurants with typical ligurian food nearby; a bakery and a supermarket are also available very near. In summer the old historical town offers many musical concerts on the "piazze" and entertainments.

Bordighera is located on the Italian Riviera between Sanremo and the French border, in a coastal resort near the marine Alps. On both sides of the Italian-French border you can visit many historical sites, ancient villages, luxuriant flora and places of art and culture where many famous artists had lived attracted by the beauty of the location. Big cities along the coast like Nice(France), Monaco, Sanremo, Genoa are easily reached. In Bordighera, Queen Margherita had her winter residence, now restaured as an Art Gallery. A long seafront, free of motortraffic and with a bike path, offers plenty of cafés and beaches; the English who lived here in the past had left the heritage of gardens, museums e.g.The Bicknell Institute, the English church (now a cultural center), the Handbury Gardens in Mortola etc. French artists as Monet and famous architect Charles Garnier also left their imprint on this town. We have a "giardino esotico" with rare cactus. This is the region of olive cultivation and fine wines.
We offer a rentabike service to our hosts ; Bordighera has a beautiful bike path on the seaside and between Ospedaletti and Santo Stefano there are 25 kms bike path as well on the seaside.
Bordighera offers a wonderful micro climate all year round !
A free parking is available 5 mint. walk.

We were in Bordighera during Easter four nights. The apartment was perfect for two of us. It was nice, calm, clean and there were everything to cook and to wash laundries. There were also internet, but sometimes it was a bit slow or not working. But we were on holiday so we manage to be without internet also. The aparment was easy to find and to reach, nevertheless hills and many stairs, even for pregnant woman. The apartment was in the old town, which was very beautiful, special and full of nice restaurants. We visited easily by a train and a bus neighbourhood places Ventimiglia, Sanremo and Dolceagua, which was very special and beautiful and worth to visit. Bordighera was also nice with beautiful views, beach, houses, markets and atmosphere. It was easy to walk everywhere. Our hosts were very nice and took care of us fully. They really wanted us to enjoy our holiday. We recommend this aparment and hosts to everyone. We could imagin to come back later even with our child.

The apartment was clean comfortable and with a lovely view in an old historic building in the old town in Bordighera. Paolo and Frederique are very kind hosts who communicated very well and prepared everything perfectly. I very much recommend.

Everything worked very well at Paolo´s and Frédérique´s place. They were very welcoming, for instance they picked up us at the railway station in stead of letting us take a cab - we enjoyed that. Of course the room is very simple but we knew that already before we arrived. The bathroom was almost luxury - with a bathtob. The kitchen was small as the rest of the studio but very well equipped. I was happy that we were not three people for several days in this room - but two is fine. The studio was very clean. The old part of Bordighera is just fantastic - not a single tourist shop but quite some restaurants, all quite good. It seemed very autentic and well restored. And very silent: cars cannot go there at all - a lovely contrast to the busy coast, much nicer than I expected. I can fully recommend this place.

My hosts were fantastic, giving clear instructions on how to find the apartment (make sure you follow them, as I didn't and ended going the hard way up endless stairs, on a hot summers day) and ensuring everything was perfect for my arrival. I was met by their daughter who graciously helped me carry my bag up 3 flights of steps and explained how to use things. The apartment was clean, comfortable and the view stunning! I could have stared out of the window all day over the rooftops and sparkling ocean by day, gorgeous sunsets at dusk and the pretty lights of Montecarlo in the distance. I will miss this so much! Paolo and Frédérique were friendly and enquired more than once if I needed anything. I loved staying here and recommend it to others. The view, quietness and comfort.

This comfy apartment set the tone for our trip through Italy. Every morning we opened the windows or shutters the Italian riviera or the distant Monaco and mountains greeted us. Simply stunning. We stayed during late October 2014 and admitedly had unusually warm weather and sunshine everyday. The apartment can sleep 3 at a stretch. It's more than comfortable for 2. Has everything you need. A good clean bathroom. A washing machine and a domestic kitchen with all the utensils you could possibly need. There is no clothes dryer apart from hanging them out the window just like the locals. This adds to the charm really but, as stated, we had sun every day. TV, WiFi all available and reliable. The apartment is up a few flights of 400 year old stone stairs in a 400 year old building in the 'old' part of town so you don't want to be in a rush to get anywhere. Local bars and restaurants (literally a few minutes walk away) are numerous and excellent and friendly. Check operating hours though. You can catch a taxi from Bordighera station easy enough or lug your luggage up the hill. It's up to you. We'd recommend taxi on arrival then you can walk everywhere the rest of your stay. Everything is close by. Bordighera station and centre is only about 10 minutes stroll away. Parking may need some planning but we managed the last couple of days of our stay with no problems. The hosts, Paolo and Frederique, are very warm and friendly. Nothing is a problem and they live in the building. I have no hesitation recommending this place. We will certainly be back on our next trip.

We are an italo-french couple and we speak english and spanish as well! I do Security in Menton-France and my wife is a language teacher.
The surroundings offer many open air activities and beside going swimming to the beach we are very fond of riding bicycle on the seafront and also on the new bike-path from Sanremo to San Lorenzo-20km. We also like to join the many "feste"(feasts) that are taking place in the surrounding villages (Vallebona, Vallecrosia, Dolceacqua, Isolabona, Perinaldo etc..) where you can taste the local food.
Anyways, as we live on the same floor than the studio we can help you for anything you want!
We are looking forward to seeing you soon!!
