Filberts is a delightful self contained detached studio loft apartment, forming part of Church Cottage smallholding in Newenden, a historic Domesday Book village on the Kent/East Sussex border, with a pub and two cafes in 2 - 5 minutes walking distance. Newenden is recognised as one of the 10 prettiest villages in Kent (Kent Life Magazine) and is also the smallest village in Kent.

We happily accept babies - a travel cot is usually available.

The space
The apartment consists of an open plan studio double bedroom and kitchen area, with flat screen Freesat HD TV with Netflix and Amazon TV, Blu Ray DVD player, free wi-fi, electric oven, induction hob, fridge, freezer and microwave; there is an en suite shower room with a heated towel rail and shaver socket. All bed linen, towels and tea towels are supplied and included in the price. Private off road parking is provided immediately outside the apartment. Laundry service can be provided in the main house at extra cost.

A welcome pack is provided for all guests on arrival.

There is a large table and seating area in the main part of the garden which is reserved for guests' use. Cushions and tablecloth are provided.

We have a professionally installed Type 2 Electric Vehicle (EV) charger which is available for guest use. Electricity used will be charged at cost.

Guest access
Guests have access to the main garden and are also welcome to visit the smallholding, which is joined to but separate from the garden. Please ensure that hands are washed after any interaction with our animals or poultry.

Other things to note
The White Hart pub in Newenden is less than 2 minutes walk from Filberts and provides good quality pub food, real ales and a friendly welcome. It has a large garden overlooking open countryside

Bodiam Boating Station on the River Rother - about five minutes walk - has a cafe and provides boat hire. Please check their website for opening hours.

Nibbles Cafe, opposite the pub, provides reasonably priced food and drinks with indoor and outdoor seating and seating pods if shelter is required

Please note that Filberts has an external wooden stair case to the front door, so may not be suitable for guests with serious mobility issues.
