I stayed at the barnhouse with my wife and baby, and my sister and her family and my stepmother. We had a fabulous stay. It was absolutely the relaxed family reunion we wanted. Kate was a superb host, very helpful with our last minute changes in arrival plans, and very friendly and offered lots of advice and tips for the area. The house is simply beautiful. Filled with gorgeous little features, particularly beautiful staircase and bathroom. We loved just hanging around in the house and the lovely garden and the pool - which was superb also. Just great space for the cousins to play and get to know each other. The garden space and the pool area were fantastic places, beautifully kept and plenty of space for kids to run around. Kate was always around if needed but entirely discrete. The area around is fabulous and we did a couple of day trips to places Kate recommended which were awesome.

Kate is a very friendly and considerate host and her house is very special in a beautiful and rural setting. It is a very romantic place and so quiet that you only hear the noise of the birds and the bees. We really loved this holliday! We were lucky with the weather and the pool to ourselves. The kitchen is well equipped and big to make dinner in the evening, because it is sometimes hard to find a restaurant in this area. I reall recommend this house!

Kate is a Fantastic host! Gorgeous home! Excellent location to drive around Normandy! Kate speaks excellent English which is very easy for travellers. She is a ceramic designer with beautiful pottery which has translated into her unique home interiors. The kitchen is very well equipped. Very clean and tidy house. We stayed with our big family along with children and parents too... And everybody enjoyed a comfortable stay and the creative cosy home. We were lucky to interact with Kate and here friends and had a lovely evening of bonfire, food and music in the rustic country side of France.

I am a friendly, relaxed and open-minded artist with a reduce/re-use/recycle attitude towards everything I do- from my artwork to the site and houses here at Cretouffiere. I have been working in ceramic for 19 years but also experiment with other mediums- stained glass, mosaic etc, mostly using recycled materials. I have an interest in history (specifically prehistory, having lectured on the subject at various conferences), art, architecture, the esoteric, walking, cycling and cuisine. I have back-packed throughout the world and am still a keen traveller. I am enthusiastic about sharing my knowledge and experiences with others and am a qualified TEFL teacher, also having taught ceramics to adults and children for the last 5 years. I like to welcome people into our space here at Cretouffiere and hopefully offer them some of the magic I have found here and in other places I have stayed around the world!
