The space

Located in a Grade II converted Georgian Townhouse (originally built in 1805), this top floor flat is a beautiful property with a stunning view across London facing The Shard.

Fully renovated in 2015, this one bedroom flat has a large living room, bathroom and kitchen, which includes cooker/oven, dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, espresso machine, blender, Magimix juicer, toaster and everything else you should need.


Free fast private Wi-Fi is available throughout the apartment, as well as an internet smart TV (gives access to iPlayer / Netflix / Spotify etc) complete with ChromeCast (easy streaming from iPhone, Android, laptop), plus Hi-Fi with Bluetooth and audio jack inputs.

Light and airy bedroom with loads of cupboard and shelf space, complete with double bed and king size duvet. Fresh clean sheets & towels (bath and hand towels) are provided for every stay. The bathroom has everything you need, including a hot/cold filtered electric shower, toiletries, and is complete with a heated towel rail.

The flat is super central - you can walk to major London sights like London Eye, Borough Market, Tate Modern, Westminster, Big Ben, and The Thames within 10 minutes. Within 15 minutes, the City (for business and Tower of London), West End and Victoria.

If you do not want to walk, the flat is moments from multiple tube (underground) stations (Southwark / Lambeth North / Elephant & Castle / Waterloo) and on many major bus routes. Southwark tube station and the Jubilee line is open 24 hours a day on Friday and Saturday as part of the Night Tube. There is a TFL Bicycle hire station 1 minute from the flat - a great way to get around the city at a low cost!

If coming from Gatwick, a direct train from the airport to Blackfriars Station (8 mins walk from apartment) takes just 45 mins. Heathrow Airport is a 50 minute train/tube journey easily accessible from this location.

If you love coffee, this is a great place to stay - with the best coffee shop in London (Monmouth Coffee) just 10 minutes away; buy fresh beans, grind them with the flats electric grinder, then use either the espresso machine, french press (cafetiere), espresso coffee pot or V60 to brew your coffee! An amazing way to wake up!

We will meet you and show you the flat on your arrival. Guests have access to the whole flat, with entrance from the street via a shared entry door.


The kitchen is equipped with all appliances and you’re very welcome to cook - feel free to use anything that is available. If you want to be entertained, use any of the electrical equipment, read any of the magazines or books, play scrabble, or learn how to juggle!

Other things to note

The flat is on the third storey of a building, so there are 3 flights of stairs to climb. Due to the age of the building, there is no lift. The flat is on a busy road, and even though it is on the top floor (third storey) with double glazing, it sometimes can be a little noisy with traffic at rush hour and occasionally at night. It is the centre of London, so to be expected anywhere really. Fans are provided in summer so windows do not have to be kept open.

I work near Tate Modern 3 days a week and this place was really convenient. Check-in and communication was a breeze. The flat itself was totally fine for the price. So I'd recommend. The area is 'up and coming' - if you're fine with all that entails, go for it.

This was my second time staying at this location for a work trip to London. It's a wonderful flat. Comfy bed, lots of natural light, great recently refurbished kitchen, and easy access to the Elephant & Castle tube. Great location - walking distance to Borough Market and a ton of other great bars and restaurants in South London. I'm very happy with my decision to stay here for a second time! Only note: The flat is on the third floor and the staircase is winding and narrow. Unless you're a weightlifter, you might want to make sure you pack light and bring a smaller suitcase ;)
