We have a cozy guest cabin in our garden It is situated behind our cottage. We live 3.5 miles outside Kinsale in a charming rural area.
It is very relaxing, a perfect place to chill, while being 10 minutes drive from the tourist town of Kinsale.

The space

Our cabin, which consists of 1 large room with an ensuite, can accommodate up to 4 people, with 1 double bed and a pull out sofa bed. The price of 70 Euros is based on 2 people sharing a Double bed, with continental breakfeast. If 2 people need separate beds, then there will be a charge of 30Euros. It will be necessary to book for 3 people in this case.
The pull out Sofabed is very comfortable, and can accommodate 1 or 2 people, at 30 Euro / person

Guest access

The CABIN is self catering, with a Microwave and Roaster and ample sized fridge. We supply Tea and coffee, and Continental breakfeast items, including Juice, Fruit, Cereals, yoghurts, cheese and home cooked ham.
I bake fresh brown scones in the morning, and toast is also an option, which you can have at a prearranged time between 7:30 and 9:30am.

We have a gas BBQ, directly outside and guests can enjoy cooking up their supper on a nice evening.
Weather dependent, we can light the wood/ turf burning stove to complete the cozy scene.
Extra blankets are always available.

There is a small library, playing cards and games.
There is also an iron and ironing board.
Other items include a hairdryer and a clock radio/cd player.

Guests are welcome to sit and enjoy the peace and tranquillity in our garden, and in the Summer ,enjoy the cattle passing by at milking time. We have 2 very cute outdoor cats which will amuse you.
There are lovely country walks and depending on whether you are a keen photographer or maybe favour a canvas, you will not be disappointed with the beautiful views .

All this before you venture into the picturesque, historical town of Kinsale,
where you can take a walking tour, sail, fish, tour the harbour, or just relax in the many fine restaurants and cafes.

Interaction with guests

Guests are encouraged to seek any help/advice they might need regarding their stay. In 2013-2014, we spent 12 months travelling Worldwide, and have a good knowledge of what a traveller may need.

It really is very cosy in this cabin and it was perfect for our weekend stay while we did a sea kayaking course in nearby Kinsale. The breakfast was delicious and set us up perfectly for a day on the sea. Helen and Don were fab hosts, thinking of everything and making sure we were comfortable. The weather took a turn for the worse on our second night and we were delighted to return to a basket of fuel for the wood burning stove. We fired it up and listened to the rain on the roof from the comfort of the sofa by the fire. Wonderful!

We were made very welcome and had some nice chats with Helen and Don. The cabin is in a lovely quiet part of their grounds and gives you perfect peace. The area is beautiful, only 10 mins drive from Kinsale. We could not recommend this property highly enough. Thanks Helen and Don

The cabin was bigger than i expected and had everything we needed for our few days there. In a way it would have been nice to have had cold enough weather to use the wood burning stove. It is away from the main roads which makes it hard to find (look for the brightly coloured gates and metal flower sculpture in the front garden) but really quiet at night.

Helen and Don were great for a chat, looked after us very well and the 'cosy cabin' is really spacious. We had a blast in rural Kinsale and loved the homemade scones and chutney...

The cabin was very private and the hosts accommodating, Don even helped me spin the car around to get back on the road. Everything was exactly as pictured; bright, cozy and quiet. Helen's chutney is amazing, really, we would have bought the lot if we had a way to get it back to the States. If you like cats be sure to say hello to Charlie and George, they're very friendly. Overall we would definitely recommend a stay here.

This is a magical place! Whimsical and quiet. In the country surrounded by farmland. The breakfasts are huge, enough to cover lunch as well. The hosts are so accommodating. We arrived in the dark and never would have found our way down the couple of country lanes. So, Helen came into town and guided us home. The town of Kinsale is very pretty and has such interesting history. This is a great place to visit and a wonderful place to stay. A little out of the way, but worth the extra drive. Definitely, Super Hosts.

I took early retirement from work some years ago, and spent a year planning a world trip. My husband Don,and I, have travelled as much as we could over the years, but we always hoped that one day we would be able to travel extensively Worldwide. We count ourselves very lucky to have had the opportunity to achieve this ambition and spent 12 months travelling, covering many countries. Its a big world out there and there are still places to see, but now we have to be content to stay still, and would like to share our little cabin in the garden with other travellers.
We have experienced using Airbnb while abroad and felt this was the right way to let out our cabin.
We were lucky to come home to our cottage , renovated by Don over the years , with ongoing projects in our garden. It is a bonus to live adjacent to the historic tourist town of Kinsale, which has so much to offer the visitor, with its historic buildings, scenic walks, fabulous restaurants, and yachting, fishing, swimming, and golf, to keep you busy.
One of the joys of travelling , is the people you meet, and the ultimate friendships that can ensue.
Don and I love to meet new people and a warm welcome is assured at our home.
