We offer two, licensed bedrooms to rent short-term that are part of our home. This listing is for the 2 rooms together.
Our location is terrific in an exclusive, highly-desirable part of beautiful Kailua. But please be advised that our house is nearly 50 years old. It has not been renovated and some areas show its age more than others, including these guestrooms.
Staying with us is more like staying with your friends. If you are expecting 5-star accommodations, this is not for you.
This listing is for two licensed vacation rental guest rooms rented together as a pair. The "balcony" and "interior" rooms are part of our home located on canal in exclusive Kainalu Park just several lots from where President Obama vacationed for 9 years. They are on the second story and each has private bath, air conditioning, a queen size bed and cable TV. WiFi Internet is provided at no charge; reception for it is best from downstairs common areas. There is an exterior access to the rooms apart from our regular access to the house, so coming in later at night is okay. There is a shared kitchenette and laundry area. Downstairs common areas include large lanai with ping pong table (see if U can beat us in doubles!). Over 250' of great canal frontage provides idyllic viewing of kayakers and turtles. Private gated beach access is a short walk around the block.
Two person per room limit. Sorry, young children not allowed due to our unique staircase which has widely spaced vertical support poles.
We do not provide meals nor snacks, but do provide complimentary canned juices, coffee and tea. There is no daily maid service but requests are honored for changing of linens/towels.

Other things to note
Please park curbside fronting the house instead of in driveway so no one gets blocked in (our truck and trailered boat are usually in driveway). In fact, parking curbside further from our driveway/mailbox (and closer to the light pole) makes for better access to back side of house where your unit is.

Owners live on-site and community is very exclusive so guests are asked to conduct themselves accordingly. No ping-pong or other significant noise after 10 pm, especially on lanai.
Visitors of guests are not allowed on property without specific permission by owners.

I am a lifetime Kailua resident. Live with wife, Bird, where we own and manage our vacation rental as part of our home. Retired from police department, I stay busy maintaining this and other rental properties in Kailua, doing most upkeep on my own. I stay active with slow-pitch softball, tennis, kayaking and ping-pong.
