The space

Our building is very quiet all year long. The courtyard is pretty 17th century and the neighbors are very cordial. We are steps away from everything you need, yet there is a wonderful sense of quiet when you step foot into our courtyard. Apt gets decent east/west light

Guest access

Space in interior courtyard for a stroller. Very safe, with code to
Enter courtyard and interphone after.

Interaction with guests

Very little as we often leave the keys with a 3rd party. But for a longer rental, we would hope to meet the party moving in!

We very much enjoyed our stay at this charming flat. The location is amazing -- right in the middle of the Marais district, convenient for Saint-Paul metro station, but on a street which gets very little traffic and is therefore pretty much free for pedestrian use. The apartment itself is unusual -- it starts on the third floor (up a spiral staircase) with living room, kitchen, and small bathroom. Up another spiral staircase is the master bedroom, bathroom (with washer), and a cosy nook with another bed. Up a further set of stairs is an attic bedroom. We're a family with a 7-year-old and a 4-year-old, who enjoyed the unusual layout, having their own spaces, and the family feel of the apartment. The host was very responsive and helpful (in English and French) before the stay, and arrangements for picking up the keys etc went well.

This appartment has a great location in cosy Marais area. We travelled with children aged 5 and 7. They both appreciated the charming and original layout on 3 levels. Also everything worked very well with arrival and departure as well as information before and during the stay.

Authentic Paris.Close to everything! Central location. I was always able to reach one of the hosts. Hosts were very welcoming. For you Americans, take note there is no AC. And although the "courtyard" was very quiet and private, most of the windows of this apartment face a very noisy Street. Noise began around 7am in the morning with the garbage trucks and other local delivery trucks and went well past 11 PM with music and noise from the boisterous restaurants below. With the windows closed, it was quite livable. But, the nature of the street amplifies every little noise. The size and location is wonderful. The neighbors are quiet. But again this is central Paris. I never heard my neighbors, but I heard all of the lovely and sometimes not so lovely sounds of the Paris streets. You have everything you need in the apartment and all of Paris is waiting for you just outside your door. The metro was close, we walked everywhere. Amazing space!

Hi Julia, Thanks for your suggestions on making our place more comfortable. We will make into consideration. For info: wash/dry instructions were indeed written in English on the info sheets that were left for you on the dining table. Thanks and best

Very charming family apartment in the Marais - excellent location, and lots of nooks for children to relax in. Our children (ages 3-6) loved the spiral stairs in the building, but people with smaller children or limited mobility might find it difficult. The neighborhood is lively with lots of foot traffic, but few cars. The bedrooms are several stories above ground level, so no problems with noise. There are buses to the Louvre, Musée d'Orsay, and Eiffel Tower about a block away. The St. Paul Metro and a bus to Montmartre are a few minutes beyond. We found that taxi drivers might not understand the address unless you speak fluent French, or they speak fluent English. A slip of paper and the address helps - the Marais is a central neighborhood and drivers are happy to take you.

Able to rent long or shorter term (10 day minimum). We are a Franco -American family. We are in teaching and have travelled to the US a lot, Italy, Spain, UK, Germany, and Netherlands.
We have rented our apartment quite a few times and have once done an exchange with South of France.
We love our home & neighborhood! Right in the center of Paris; highlights our neighborhood offers: restaurants, walks along the Seine on a Sunday when the traffic is cut off, Nouveau Latina cinema, Le Dome du Marais restaurant!
Other than that, we are quite busy with educational projects, research, rehearsals, and raising kids!
We love the peronal touches we have found when visiting other's apartments, and try to make our guests feel like they're welcome and about to explore a wonderful city.
