Only 3 miles from downtown and near the Rabbit Bike Trail. Arts & Crafts House has 3 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, Full Kitchen, Dining Room, Living Room, Wireless Internet, Cable TV, Off-street parking for 3 compact cars, deck. Survellience cameras outside. DO NOT BRING PETS.

The space

This house is just 3 miles from downtown Greenville with easy access to the Swamp Rabbit Bike Trail and I-385. The house can comfortably fit 9 FAMILY members. A couple in the Master, a couple and 3 singles in the Spare, and a couple in the Suite. Guests will have access to the common areas of the house; Living room, dining room, kitchen with breakfast bar, Master bedroom with a Simmons Queen size bed, the Spare room with Twin over Double Futon bunk bed and room for two twin inflatables which you provide, and one bathroom with double vanities. The Suite has a Simmons Queen mattress on a box spring on the floor and it has its own bathroom included.
The Suite is better suited for adults than children and a couple sharing a bed rather than 2 singles because the bathroom is part of the room.

The Studio @ Arts & Crafts House, which is a separate unit, may be booked separately if it is available and that guest has a separate parking space in front of the tree.
There is service for 8. There is a set of pots and pans, cooking utensils, toaster, coffee pot, etc. There is a 40" TV, Cable, Wi-Fi, washer & dryer are available in the laundry room on site in a different building. There is NO ON-STREET parking, but there is room for 3 cars in the driveway. There is a gas fireplace for use during POWER OUTAGES ONLY.

Guest access

Access to the House is by a code which will be the last 4 digits of the phone number you have listed on Airbnb. The front light is on 24/7. I can see you on the porch or in the driveway on my security cameras so I can help you with getting in if you have trouble with the high tech lock. (Don't overthink it. Just press each number once and listen for the motor.)

Interaction with guests

I am not usually on site, but there may be times when I will occupy the Studio Apartment behind the house.
The Studio Apartment may be rented separately and that guest has a separate parking space in front of the tree. This unit might also be available if your group needs an additional real bed and bathroom. It is booked separately on Airbnb and is called the Studio @ Arts & Crafts House.
Please communicate with other guests on the property.

Other things to note

I lived in the house for over 12 years and do most of my own maintenance, so please call me with any concerns. I often can help with a problem over the phone or direct it to my trusted workmen.

I have a trusted Handyman onsite most nights. He has the same access to the house that I have as he is there in my stead. He has been the adult on property making the parent of a college student feel more comfortable and has made single women staying alone feel more secure. If you are not comfortable with this, please find someplace else to stay.
NO ANIMALS. Not even the friendly neighborhood cats.
NOTHING ON THE PROPERTY NEEDS TO BE FORCED OR SLAMMED OR OVER INFLATED.. Read all my messages to know all the tricks to operate appliances and such. Lift up gently on the washer door to close it. DO NOT SLAM IT! If the washing machine continues to get broken by guests it will be removed from the amenities list and be made available only for a rental fee through Airbnb. If the dishwasher in the house doesn't shut gently, then you haven't loaded it properly. Figure out why it isn't closing. Look for a piece of silverware that is sticking out. I'm tired of having to fix and replace things that guests break because of force. These appliances I used when I lived there. They have had these issues and they still work just fine if you treat them correctly. Inflatable beds and mattresses should only be inflated to about 80%. If you will listen to the pump motor you will hear it change when they are full. THEY ARE NOT PART OF A BOUNCE HOUSE. Please DO NOT let your children use them as such. When what I have are gone, I will start making them available for sale only and they will be air mattresses, not air beds.
NO VEGETABLE PEELS IN THE GARBAGE DISPOSAL. (House only. Studio doesn’t have a disposal.) I recycle grocery bags for trash bags and waste basket liners. I hope you will continue to do the same with your grocery bags. Put potato and carrot peels in the grocery bag that hangs on the inside of the cabinet door under the sink in the house. The disposal can only handle the stuff that rinses off of plates that have been scraped into the trash bag. (See the picture of the trash/grocery bag set-up on Airbnb.com, Arts & Crafts House.) The waste baskets are small so that we can use grocery bags for liners and so that they get dumped into the trash FREQUENTLY to avoid the dumpster odor that a large kitchen trash can produces after a just a couple days.
WHEN YOU BREAK IT, TELL ME. I need to fix it before the next guest arrives and I might even be able to get it fixed before you leave. I understand breakage is a part of business. Light fixtures that don't work and toothbrush holders that are glued back together reflect poorly on me. I fixed the light fixture so the chains can’t be broken again and I replaced the broken toothbrush holder.
The fastest way to get a car moved which is blocking your car is to knock on the bedroom doors or the door to the Studio.

• Tell me what you need. It may already be there and I can tell you where it is or I can usually get it there pretty quickly.
• Let me know if you hear the toilet bubbling, or running.
• Let me know if the drains are running slow.
• Tell me what you find broken or what you break.
• Light bulbs burn out so I keep a stock of them there and I can tell you where they are so you can replace one if you need to or I can get David to do it for you.
• I also have batteries available. (Remote batteries are in the TV stand)
• I have also been known to reimburse you for something you feel you need that I don’t have there, if you have cleared it with me first.
• Sometimes, I can order it for pickup at the local Wal*Mart
LOAD THE DISHWASHER with your dirty dishes (while you run the hot water to get it to the kitchen) and start it. The new container of Finish doesn't need to be unwrapped before you put it in the dishwasher. The wrapper dissolves.
PUT OUT THE TRASH ( grocery bags hang on the holders on the back of the cabinet door under the sink ) in the trash bin next to the front porch or the one near the studio, whenever they are full and when you are leaving. Trash goes out Tuesday night for Wednesday morning pickup. David puts out the barrels but you need to put your trash in.
LEAVE THE BEDS UNMADE, but put your towels in the laundry baskets in the hallway.

You must also acknowledge
Must climb stairs - Look at the picture of the front of he house. There are two new handrails. There are also two steps to get off the deck.
Some spaces are shared - The laundry room is shared in a separate building.
Amenity limitations - Washer works great, but the door hinge is slightly off. Lift up gently and close carefully so as not to break the mechanism.

1.4 miles to the swamp rabbit trail and some of the sweetest pedaling in the state. Can't beat the location and convenience

Beautiful, well-kept home! The on-site handyman, David, was very helpful, friendly, and has done a great job maintaining the property. Great location, quiet but close to downtown, several parks and many great attractions. Came with two toddlers in our group. If you have kids you have to check out The children's museum of upstate; the kids loved it. We hope to come back soon. If we do, we will definitely stay here. The studio in the back that can be rented separately or together would be perfect if we had a larger party. We would reserve both locations. Thanks for the memories!

Thank you so much for you review. It is refreshing to hear that I have pleased somebody with all the hard work it takes to keep these 2 airbnb properties going.

My friends and I came up to Greenville from Florida for a wedding. Our host Claudia was very good at communicating with us. She provided a clear and detailed list of rules and expectations to follow that made staying there very fun and very easy! When we arrived after a 10 hour drive, everything was in perfect order and we had s great time over the next 4 days/nights. I would happily stay here again if I ever needed a place in Greenville!

Thank you, Jonathan. It was a pleasure having you. I especially like how you actually read the rules and expectations that were "clear and detailed" and how it made staying "fun and easy." Please do come back whenever you are in Greenville. It is reviews like this one from guests like yourself that keep me going in the Airbnb business.

We had several issues arise during our stay, but Claudia was very helpful and reasonable in trying to fix the problems and make things work-out. She responded quickly to texts or phone calls. The house would be great for a large family or group, but I would not feel comfortable staying there alone or with just my kids.

Response from Claudia:
You weren't alone. My handyman is onsite most of the time and if you read all the things you were supposed to read at the time you booked, you would have known that. I'm sorry you felt uncomfortable or unsafe. If I didn't have an underlying conviction that the world is mostly full of good people, I would not be offering my home to strangers. You might be more comfortable in a hotel situation.

Claudia was very sweet, she made us feel as if we were her family, which I am not use to, so in the beginning we felt we were being watched, but she just wanted to make sure everything was perfect. Any issue I had, Claudia was only a call away

Response from Claudia:
Thank you for the nice review. I do like to make sure my guests are comfortable, but I do watch. My outside cameras alert me and I can see some of what is going on. That is a form of asset protection. I like to know that my rules are being followed. I don't want to upset the neighbors. I don't want my house to get a bad reputation. It was purely coincidental that I was physically on the property in the other unit during your stay.
