This charming studio is one of historic St. John's building's eight short-term rental apartments. It's the perfect home base for your exploration of Seattle's favorite Pike/Pine corridor in the Capitol Hill neighborhood.

All of our apartments are stocked with kitchen and bathroom essentials, blow dryers, irons, ironing boards, and free wifi access.

The space

This studio is perfect for one or two people. It has a full kitchen, a queen bed and a small seating area. Apt. 319 is approx. 300 sq. ft. The TV is a 40" Samsung and has a great picture. The bathroom has a tub/shower combination.

St. John's is right next to a large supermarket and 10 blocks from the middle of downtown Seattle. It's the best location you could imagine for your holiday!

It's a busy neighborhood. There are many restaurants and bars nearby--two restaurants in our building in fact, plus a deli! Across the street is a Pho restaurant and a sports bar. Up the street are two large venues for live music. One features national acts.

It's a great old building and a great location.

Guest access

Guests have private access to the whole apartment unit. There is a shared laundry room on the second floor of the building that has two washers and two dryers, which are quarter operated, a dollar per load. There is also a large, shared back patio space with a gas BBQ that guests are welcome to use and share with our long-term tenants.

Interaction with guests

I am at the building Monday - Friday during regular business hours on most days. When I'm not at the building, Johnny, our live-in building manager, is around to help and to check people in. We do our best to meet and check you in, but depending on your arrival time we may coordinate with you to leave the keys in one of the businesses in our building. For the most part other than checking you in we'll leave you to do your own thing, but you can always contact us with questions about the area or any needs that arise while you're staying with us.

Other things to note

Our building does not have an elevator and this unit is up two flights of stairs.

Please be aware that this is an urban environment. In our neighborhood you can expect to encounter people from all walks of life and hear noise, often late into the evening. If a silent outdoor environment is important to you, this part of Seattle may not be the best place for you to stay. That being said, St. John's is an incredible place to experience the city from, and we have security systems, triple-pane windows to reduce the street noise as well as white noise machines in the bedrooms to make sure you sleep easy.

Please note that our typical minimum stay is 3 nights, and exceptions for 2-night stays are made on a case-by-case basis depending on our calendar and how far in advance you are booking, and are subject to an increased rate of $25 per night. We will only book 2-night stays far in advance if there are only two nights available in a row. We may also accept 2-night stays if booked within 2 weeks of your check-in.

Infants under 2 are an additional $10 per night. We do have a pack n play that we will set up upon request, please notify us that you will need it upon booking.

We have 8 short term rental units in the same building! All are available on AirBnB, so check out the other listings if this one is booked for the dates you'd like to stay with us. We have Studios, 1- and 2-bedroom units. To check out all of our listings, go to my profile page by clicking my profile picture.

Location is the best!! We love staying near great cafés ad restaurants and hipster places, despite not quite managing to be hipsters ourselves! The apt had everything we needed. And just so many places nearby. We loved it!

The apartment was perfect. Clean and comfortable...and best of all it has air conditioning. It met my needs and was in the best location for just about anything one would want to do. I will certainly stay here again!

Bryce's apartment was exactly as described and extremely clean. It was a quick 10-15 minute walk to downtown and Pike Market, but there was also plenty to do right on the blocks surrounding the apartment. We would definitely stay here again if we come back to Seattle.

This place was charming! Yeah, there was street noise and people hanging out downstairs at all hours, but, um ... that's what you get if you want to stay smack dab in the middle of Seattle nightlife. There were restaurants open late *right downstairs*, bars within walking distance, and live music over on the next block. This place was within convenient walking distance to everything, and Bryce couldn't have been any nicer. He saved us a bunch of money by taking the time to send detailed instructions on using LINK from the airport, rather than the Uber we'd planned to use. The apartment was clean, with plenty of hot water. Still can't believe we got such a great place for such a good price. Plus there's a binder on the kitchen table with Bryce's list of "best restaurants" nearby -- thanks for the tip on Wandering Goose! -- which led us to the best breakfast I've had in YEARS.

Bryce is a nice host. During my stay, I was clicking around Airbnb and accidentally send some message stating 'I've having issues with the listing' to her. Luckily she was very patient and understanding.

I'm the short term rentals manager for St. John's Apartments, we have eight apartments ranging from studios to 2 bed/2 bath in the same historic building in Seattle's Capitol HIll. I'll be your go-to for all questions on bookings.
Johnny Sidorowicz is our live-in manager and he's happy to help you out upon arrival if I'm not at the building.

A little history:
Mark Chambers and Oda Egeland bought St. John's in January 2005. They had always loved the neighborhood and were enchanted by the bones of the building. Built in 1905, it has an old charm missing in newer buildings. Immediately after purchasing it they went to work, remodeling every apartment, putting in new plumbing and electrical, and making it modern in almost all conveniences (no dishwashers nor elevator). Mark did most of the work himself, with help from Johnny. We now have 8 short term apartments and 14 long term apartments. It's a great building. Sadly, Mark passed away away in 2015. Oda still lives in their house in the country, 30 miles from St. John's. Occasionally though, she will stay in the short term rentals when they are available. Mark always loved staying here, Oda still does and we're sure you'll love it too!

A little bit about me: I grew up in Tucson, Arizona, spent most of my summers with family in eastern Massachusetts, lived in Buenos Aires, Argentina and Vancouver, BC during college, and moved to Seattle in 2014. Soon after moving here Mark and Oda hired me to help Johnny maintain the building. When the former short term rentals manager, Christine, left for graduate school I was lucky enough to get to take over the position! She and I wrote the neighborhood guide in the guest handbook in each unit, so you can also read about some of our favorite spots in there.
