The space

Romance, comfort, mod cons like WiFi etc, in an original 3-level stone cottage in a wonderfully central location in S. Brittany. Guemene has a private walled courtyard with 2 patios to catch the sun!
This ancient market town was originally the ducal seat of the Rohan's in the Middle Ages...explore the area or drive to glorious beaches 30 mins away!
Rates include a Welcome basket, all linens and towels, a starter pack of household items, BBQ and 4 bikes to cycle in the immediate countryside or along the canals.

Guest access

Recommend a car to explore this historic area. Parking on the street outside the cottage
Guemene is vibrant village with boulangeries, creameries, banks, shops, a substantial supermarket and a Thursday seafood market.
Late arrivals have the option to call our housekeeper for the code to the lockbox for keys to the house - a guest follow-up the next day

Interaction with guests

Our wonderful housekeeper, Gill is at hand to welcome guests, answer question and make suggestions. The house is full of information about the area and its special history.

Other things to note

At the end of a day of exploring, nothing is more satisfying than sitting in the walled garden with an ice cold Breton cider in hand, contemplating a short walk up the high street to one of the local Creperies...the crepe St Jacques (scallops) is mouthwatering!

We spend a lovely week in Fionas Cottage, everything was as described or better. You find everything you need for your everyday life in the house and the housekeeper Gill and her husband Fred are the best people you can possibly have looking after you and are happy to tell you about the area. A bottle of prosecco was waiting for us on our arrival and there was jam and butter in the fridge and bread on the table. We felt homely right away in this beautiful cottage with it's light colours, cosy living room, extremly good equiped kitchen and comfortable beds. The garden is just gorgeous and everything is very well looked after. You need a car to get to the seaside and it takes about 40 minutes but then it's just a dream come true with it's cliffs, endless sand beaches, turquoise and blue sea and the coastal path going all around Brittany for cilfftop walks. We didn't meet the owner but every email was responded very quickly. We couldn't have wished for a better place to stay!
