The cottage was once a stable with hay loft above but it has been carefully converted into a delightful little cottage for two. It has all the amenities that you will need to make sure you have a wonderful holiday. We are registered with the Andalucía tourist board, our number is: VTAR/MA/00985

The space

Renovated cottage set in amongst the olive groves. Excellent access to motorway for sightseeing trips to Malaga, Granada, Sevilla and Cordoba. 40 minutes from the coast and beaches at Malaga. Five minutes outside of the village of Villanueva del Trabuco which has all amenities including banks, restaurants, health centre, bus stop etc. The village is famous for the '100 pipes' (Cien caños) which gush with cold spring water from the depths of the mountains and is in a picturesque setting surrounded by pine forests and mountains. The rustic cottage has an antique carved double bed, wardrobe, chest of drawers, tiled bathroom with shower, loo and hand basin, satelite TV, internet (WiFi), fully equipped kitchen with dish washer, oven, iron, microwave etc. Washing machine available on request. Sun terrace with sun beds and parasol and a breathtaking view of the mountains, private patio with BBQ, table and chairs.
The property has neighbours but is not overlooked. The track is actually a dead end although it leads off into the olive groves and makes an ideal 'after dinner' walk to take in some of the spectacular views. We are registered with the Andalucía Tourism Board (VTAR/MA)

Guest access

They will have access to the roof terrace, small patio and a washing machine is available on request.

Interaction with guests

Usually only when called upon or in passing, we like to preserve our guests privacy but are always on hand if needed.

Other things to note

We have pets (including one exceptionally friendly tabby cat called Tarmac) and so do our neighbours. There is no smoking allowed inside the casita. The spiral staircase is quite narrow and not suitable for anybody with limited mobility.

Great place to stay and get away from it all. Has everything you’d need. Loved our stay. Highly recommend.

Denise is a lovely host, and the house is a perfect combination of a traditional style farmhouse feel but with modern fresh facilities in the kitchen and shower room. The situation is perfect for access to the motorway network to Granada, Córdoba, Ronda, Malaga, and Seville at a stretch. The house is only a few minutes from the town by car, which has a supermarket if you want to cook, and plenty of restaurants if you don't. If you enjoy sunbathing, but not the hustle and bustle of resorts, the roof terrace is a lovely place to relax on a lounger after a day sightseeing. I can't recommend Denise's place enough.

Lovely, lovely place to stay, very quiet and relaxing, perfect! Denise and Shaun are very warm and welcoming, and have a lot of local knowledge that they are happy to share. The village is 5 minutes drive and has everything you need, and has a great community feel, I loved the farmers riding through on their horses and the paseo each evening. I wholeheartedly recommend it, we'll certainly be coming back!

We were made very welcome, and a generous welcome pack was provided including a bottle of wine! Everything was as described and in working order, a couple of heaters came in very useful as it was a bit chilly (we went in April so to be expected!). We found both hosts to be friendly and informative, we felt we could ask for whatever we needed, but that everything was provided in the house. The view is fab, and the area has good places to walk.

The house was just what we needed as a base for travelling around the area. It was very well equipped with easily enough space for the 2 of us and beautiful views across the valley from the roof terrace. Denise and family were very friendly but unobtrusive. Would highly recommend.

Denise and Shaun were really wonderful hosts; they had thought of everything we might have needed. The house was very clean, welcoming, and comfortable. We had a great week staying there! This area of Andalusia is perfect for a peaceful and relaxing holiday and Malaga is only a short drive away (you definitely need a car!). Thank you both very much!

Thank you Denise & Shaun, we had the most wonderful relaxing break. The accommodation was beautifully decorated and very clean. We really enjoyed the private terrace with the stunning views across the olive groves. Fortunately we had plenty of sunshine which was bliss for late October! The cottage is very quaint and in a stunning rural location. We hired a car and think this is an excellent base to explore the area from. We would highly recommend people to enjoy a stay in this lovely cottage!
