Description

The space

Established in 1977, The Motha Roux Hall has hosted innumerable live shows, Mardi Gras balls, and acted as a launching pad for marching with the Endymion parade. This house is a funky relic -furnished with original posters/fliers and krewe memorabilia, as well as original paintings by local artists. If you want to experience a unique niche of New Orleans culture look no further, as this home is located in the beautiful City Park area -within a 15 minute walk to; New Orleans Museum of Art (NOMA), Jazzfest, Voodoo Fest, the Cemeteries, and Bayou Saint John. The home is a mere 2 blocks from the streetcar line (30min ride to French Quarter), two major grocery stores, coffee shops, legendary restaurants, and the famed grandeur of flora & fauna within City Park.

There is a shaded deck and common area with direct access from both bedrooms. There is also a communal laundry room.

I will be in constant reach during your stay here. I work out of another part of the home and can provide any information on where to go from first to last!

Located by City Park, the neighborhood is a serene and shaded area, and most of the neighbors have lived here their whole lives. When you come stay here, please respect the privacy of others who live close by. New Orleans thrives on southern-hospitality, the kindness and compassion of community, and a renowned laissez faire, so go with the flow and get funky!

I am a local New Orleanian, and have worked hard over the last few years to bring this home back to its former glory. I have spent the last 6 years traveling in Southeast Asia and Latin America, and work out of my painting studio in the Motha Roux Hall. I am honored to be able to share this space with other travelers wishing to visit my home town. My father worked for nearly 30 years in making the Krewe of Motha Roux an unforgettable landmark in the city, and I hope to carry on the legacy. Help me write the story!
