Anne was great. She took the time to explain the rules of the building, toured the building with me showing me all the amenities aw well as giving me tips on both the building & the town. The building is in a great location right in downtown (lol) Reno; walking distance to everything.......restaurants, bars, Truckee River Walk, Reno Aces Ballpark and of course.....casinos.

There were several problems with this 3 month stay, including invasion of privacy, frequent and unnecessary (borderline badgering) messaging and phone calls (once she got my number), and I'm still in contact with her re: an agreement we made to split the cost of an extra $75 key to the building that she is now refusing to reimburse me for. When we arrived in Reno, with a check in time of 4pm, my girlfriend and I were excited to move in to our new place. We had been camping and road tripping for the 2 weeks prior and a bed sounded really nice. I called Anne at 4pm to ask if we could start the check-in procedure, and she explained that she was "no where near ready." Long story short we did not start moving our things into the apartment until 8pm- and this is after we spent over an hour moving her things out of her apartment and packing HER car, which she cleared hadn't even started. After we packed her up, she asked if she could use the shower one more time. Sure. Then, she explained that she would like to keep her parking space one more night in the garage. I was blown away, but allowed it because she seemed to need serious help with...well, life in general. Skip to a month into the stay, she knocks on the door one morning (btw no advance knowledge that she would be dropping by) and proceeded to open the door before we could even acknowledge the knock. As the door opened we said "ummm hello?" to which she replied "sorry, can I come in?" My girlfriend was in bed in her underwear, and she said, "no" because we really like our privacy. I texted her later that day that if she needs anything from her apartment, we can set up a time for that, and please no more uninvited "drop ins." We arranged it and I let her have the place to herself for a couple hours to get what she needed. With her knowing that there were 2 of us coming to stay for an extended period of time, it seems like 2 keys to the building would really be useful. All things considered I am maybe most offended by her refusal to reimburse me $37 for the key- her explanation for renigging on our agreement is that she only charged one cleaning fee (we extended our stay 2 months after the first month) buuuuut shouldn't there only be one cleaning fee if there is only one move out? This illustrates how inconsiderate Anne is, and how out of touch with reality she is. I told her to contact airbnb and ask them how cleaning fees usually work when someone extends a stay, and reminded her that we did obviously clean the apartment regularly, its not like there was 3 months of grime all over the place. Also, just another thing, on aesthetics, the furnishing and decor are...

Response from Anne:
WOW! What a rant. There is so much falsehood and half-truths in Mr. Newman's statement that I will not waste your time writing a rebuttal to his claims. I will just make a few points about what he has said. 1. If the situation was so bad, WHY DID HE CONTINUE TO RE-BOOK MONTH AFTER MONTH? 2. I never entered the unit without notification and permission. I only entered it once in the three months because of something I needed due to an unexpected family illness. 3. Mr. Newman provided me with his phone number. I used it very limitedly and only for things related to the booking. 4. It was necessary to clean not only for normal wear but there was mold in the shower, dirt in the washer, dryer, dishwasher, oven, refrigerator and microwave. 5. As to his complaint about the décor, Mr. Newman had access to the pictures taken by Airbnb's professional and CHOOSE to stay here. 6. I allowed him to do the booking monthly so that he would not have to pay almost $6000 in a lump sum on booking. The cleaning fee was apportioned by me so that it would accumulated over the 3 months. I find his rant to be a show of immaturity. I would still give a positive review although would not care to book him again. As a frequent host and a guest of Airbnb and a landlord in both business and personal leases, I consider the broken, damaged and missing items to be part of general wear and tear and therefore did not complain about them in my review. I have the utmost respect for Airbnb and will continue to book with them.

The place was located in the heart of downtown Reno. If you're visiting town to go the casinos, this is definitely the place. High security and very safe. Located on one of the top floors so the view was great. Easily accessible to all major highways. Great place! :)

I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS CONDO. Short story: - Bizarre check-in procedure - Incessant messages from host - Violation of Privacy

Response from Anne:
Shannon brought an extra person to a space where I clearly stated was meant for 2. I would certainly not recommend her as a honest or truthful guest. I reported her to Airbnb and followed their advice on how to handle the breach of policy.

I stayed at Linda's place for one night as I was heading to Lake Tahoe for a wedding. Her condo is exactly as advertised. It has a great little balcony for watching the sunrise (which I did) and is very conveniently located to downtown Reno as well as the Amtrak station. Linda is a very generous host who will make sure you are comfortable with the 'lay of the land' and all that Reno has to offer. Thanks Linda for your hospitality and I enjoyed our conversation.

Linda is both an engaged and engaging host. She met my fiancee and me personally, made sure the front desk staff knew we were her guests, personally escorted us to our assigned parking space and, in general, was thoroughly congenial. The condo is precisely as advertised - ideally situated for on-foot access to all of Reno's downtown venues. We ate breakfast in and cooked a steak dinner once (the many tempting local restaurants were a siren's song). Lovely views and very little street noise.

I'm a professional who travels a lot and want to share my lovely well-located space in Reno. I'm central to everything and find Reno to be more fun than I could ever have imagined. I am looking for longer term stays as I plan to travel for months at a time.
