Amazing house with 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and great lounge area with stunning views of the South Cornwall Sea and St. Michael's Mount. Great coastal walkways and several beaches near by. Perfect in all seasons for all ages. Sleeps 6/7.

The space

You'll feel like you've landed in the most beautiful mirage when you arrive. The house is airy, welcoming and has the most beautiful views - no matter the weather. With an open plan kitchen, dining area and lounge, everything is located on one floor for easy access for all ages (except the coolio single bed on the mezzanine in the second bedroom which is a must for teens!). It's fully equipped and towels and linens are freshly supplied for each guest.

Guest access

Guests have access to the house and the garden. There are two parking spaces in front of the house. The house is self contained and full of books and brochures to wet the appetite for everything you can do in the local area.

Interaction with guests

We won't be there as we live in London. This is our home away from home, but entry is easy through a key lock box. We'll give you the code once your booking is confirmed.

Other things to note

There is a organic farm shop near the house and a Tesco, Sainsbury and Morrison Superstores in Penzance, which is 2-3 miles away.

We loved our stay at the Old Carthouse! We stayed with our new born baby and grandparents and the Old Carthouse was a total delight. The views were spectacular and the house warm and snugly and there were the most beautiful roses in the house. The master bed was lovely and warm and there was plenty of space. The master shower was so good I wanted to bring it back to London with me! The double room was spacious too however the bed was too narrow for two large adults, it seems smaller than a standard double. The kitchen was well equipped and the sofas very comfortable. Perfect for a drink and nibble while admiring the view. Kathleen was very prompt with responses. Absolutely loved our stay and we will be back!

The Old Cart House is a fantastic property. Open plan kitchen, dinner & lounge with lots of open space. Good size bedrooms & a scenic view of St Michael's Mount which is to die for. Cannot recommend the property high enough nor Kathleen's willingness to assist.

Kathleen's house is amazing, with a stunning view from the main room! We stayed there for few days with our little ones (3 and few months old) and we had everything we needed (cot, high-chair, cutlery etc.). It is a very quite neighbourhood and the closest village is accessible by walk via the foot path where you can find a pub, two cafes and a beach. Kathleen provides many information about what can be done in the surroundings, which is really appreciable.

The Old Cart House is a comfortable and beautiful place to stay. The views are wonderful and even if the weather is not so great you will be very comfortable. Check in and out and communication with the host was super easy. Bed linen and towels were great quality. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need and more to make some good food. We walked to the local pub for dinner and made it back in the dark quite easily. We loved staying here and would love to return.

This is a beautiful home with stunning views over Mounts Bay. Excellent walking down to the beach at Perranuthnoe with its very good cafe, or to the Victoria Inn. A perfect destination for relaxing with family or friends

This is a gorgeous house. The views are just spectacular. Everything we needed for a perfect Christmas & new year together. Spacious enough for 5 adults while still being cosy. Great location/access for everywhere we wanted to visit (St Ives, Lands end, Minack, St Michaels mount, Eden Project, Heligan etc). Kathleen is a wonderful host, even checking in with us over Christmas. We would all be delighted to visit again.

Executive Producer with two children - ages 7 and 12. I travel for work, so staying somewhere special on holidays is so important... which is why we've listed our lovely holiday home so that we can share it with others.

My children are my top priority and I feel privileged to have the opportunity to work with extraordinary people across the globe.
