Spacious and comfortable farm house surrounded by countryside yet situated just 10 minutes drive from Alghero's beautiful old town, close to the best beaches and only 5 minutes from the airport. Furnished to a high standard with very large beds. Please note that the pool is closed until May 2018.
There is an Emperor sized (7ft/220cm wide) 4 poster bed and a super king sized bed unusual in this type of property. Ideal for friends and families who want to cook with fantastic local produce in a wood fired oven, or on the barbecue, pick fruit from the trees and spend al fresco evenings eating, drinking and relaxing. There are covered and open outside spaces with plenty of seating and eating areas and a hectare of land for children to have the freedom to explore and have some great games of hide and seek. The good sized over ground pool is 10m x 5m. There is an outdoor shower great for rinsing off after a day at the beach or in the pool. We provide beach towels to save that bit of room in your suitcases.
Guests can pick fruit from the trees and depending on the season you will find oranges, lemons, mandarins, grapes, figs, pomegranates, mulberries, plums, almonds, prickly pears, medlars and blackberries. The pizza oven is housed in one of the outbuildings which is available for guests to use. There is a table with some chairs and is a good place to sit, eat and play if the weather is not that warm.
Interaction with guests
We have a property manager in Alghero who meets guests at the house and lives nearby should the need arise for any help. Please ask if you require and earlier or later check-in/out and we will do our very best make it work.
Other things to note
The nearest beach is the Spiaggia Maria Pia which is a long pine backed beach of white sand. This is a 4 minute drive away. Other nearby beaches are the trendy "Le Bombarde" and "Lazzaretto" beaches. A little further away is "Mugoni" in the massive natural harbour of Porto Conte and if you want to be guaranteed plenty of space even in the height of summer head to "Porto Ferro" a gloriously unspoiled beach. Head for the far end away from the main car park by following the signs for "Lago di Baratz". It is well worth a trip north to Stintino, a 40 minute drive, where you will find the glorious beach of La Pelosa with it's crystalline shallow waters.
If the weather isn't great I would recommend a trip to the vineyard at Sella and Mosca, only a short ride away, where thy have organised tours of the cellars and yiu coukd incorporate this with a trip to Anghelu Ruju next to the vineyard. This is an ancient underground burial chamber which is thought to be 1000's of years old!
Walking and cycling is a real pleasure in the area. There is a National Park at Punto Giglio with marked walking and cycle tracks. Scuba diving, sailing, kayaking, karting, snorkelling, motocross, horseriding and climbing are all popular.
Please ask about pets and we do not allow smoking inside the buildings.
