We spent a very nice family holiday at this unique property in August and would highly recommend it. The owner was extremely helpful and even called me a week before our arrival to go over some of the practicalities. They also arranged for us to have meals cooked for us during our stay which was greatly appreciated. Although you need your own car, the local town (Palau) is only a few kilometers away and has plenty of good restaurants, bars and supermarkets as well as boats for hire and ferries to the La Maddelana islands.

As a preface, I must unequivocally state that we had an amazing, magical time at this house. However! It is important to note that this is a very specific property and may not be for everyone. If you crave new, fancy houses with the latest amenities and technology, stop reading now and book in Porto Cervo. However, if you value total seclusion, nature, and simplicity, this villa may be just your thing. Here's why... Located 10 min east of the port village of Palau, the house is down a one mile dirt driveway off the main road. The main house is perfectly divided into two wings with the main living areas in the center, which makes it ideal for two families with children traveling together (as we were). There is also a guest house which makes it even more ideal to add in a third, small family (as we did). The villa has a spectacular view from its extended patio of the sea, La Maddelena, and Corsica in the distance. Looking overtop its "yard" of rocks and trees, a narrow path leads to the house's own private "beach" which is actually more of a small cove. We spent much of the time on chairs on the rocks surrounding the cove or in the water itself. The landscape is arid, with stunning granite rock sculptures that will remind many of the vistas in part of the SW United States. Everything about the house is an exercise in simple chic, from the mosquito netting on the beds to the beautiful Italian pottery and lithographs that adorn the walls. Note there are three types of water: that which comes out of the faucets (non-potable), that which comes in huge, rectangular jugs delivered by the municipality (for cooking) and that which you buy at the grocery store (for drinking). Again, some people may find this an inconvenience. We found it only added to the charm. The house is a short drive into town to grocery stores, restaurants, the gelateria(!) and slightly further to magnificent towns like Porto Rafael. We would highly recommend chartering a boat at the Port in Palau for a day to get a totally different experience on Sardinia. The house is expensive. But if you want a large property that provides distinct areas for three different groups, and a nearly colonial feel that will allow you to easily cut off from the rest of the world, we would highly recommend taking a look at this property. Being from the high-paced environment of NYC, we instantly felt on vacation and at ease.

The House is just amazing! My Girlfriend and me stayed at this wonderful place for one week. Since it was just the two of us we didn't occupy the villa but stayed in the studio. The photos can't do justice to the beauty of this place. It's located within a rocky coastal landscape next to Gallurian granite rocks and local plants with great views over the Mediterranean sea. The house is merging into the rocky landscape and is also fascinating from an architectural point of view. Maybe the most valuable aspect of this place, is its remoteness and quietness. No neighbors, 3 private sandy beaches just 20 meters away from the house, idyllic sunsets over the sea just in front of the terrace - an ideal place to relax. For us it has also been a good starting point to explore north-east Sardinia. Many interesting localities are just a few minutes away by car. Communication with Maria & Beatrice was excellent. They suggested some local activities and made sure we were taken good care of! We felt like home and wish we could have stayed longer. I would highly recommend a stay at this small piece of paradise.

The House is just grand! It could not be located more idyllic within a landscape of rocks and brushes right next to the green blue and clear Mediterranian Sea. All of the three little beaches are cute and absolutely private. I think this is one of the biggest luxuries you can have on earth especially while not beeing far away from civilization. We also had three Little children (3, 5 and 7 years old) in our Group of 10 people who really enjoyed the safe beaches and the calm water as well as the smooth rocks all around. Beatrice and her Mother were always helpful and there also is a housecleaning Lady able to cook if wanted. All in all it was an unforgettable experience and a great stay.

We really enjoyed our time at the villa. We were 4 adults and 2 infants but I would suggest that you would actually have enough space for double this number. The place is rustic but special in a very homely way. You have your own private beaches and there is some great walks to be done right behind the villa up to the capo d'orso. Beatrice and Maria were very helpful giving good advice and recommendations for local activities. I have recommended the villa for friends.
