Description

The space

Waldrons Farm Barn is a lovely Listed Building which has been converted to create an inviting and cosy self catering cottage, full of character and absolutely ideal for a Cotswolds Holiday. Set in the southern Cotswolds on the Wiltshire/Gloucestershire borders, the cottage is peacefully located in the grounds of the owners' home. Externally, the cottage is surrounded by open countryside, a private garden and a tennis court. Internally the barn is modernised to a very high standard with all mod cons throughout creating a home which is sure to please the most demanding of tastes. (The radiators are amazing - you have to see them to believe them!!) An excellent choice for those looking to 'get-away' or to tour the southern Cotswolds and Bath region.

The village of Brinkworth is located in rural Wiltshire, 5 miles east of Malmesbury and 6 miles west of Junction 16 of the M4; 14 miles to the north is Cirencester the ancient capital of the Cotswolds. It is believed that Brinkworth is actually the longest village in England and yet small at the same time with a population of approximately 1300. There are two public houses a village shop (within walking distance) as well as a church. There are more more shops and services to be found in Malmesbury and Royal Wootton Bassett, both c 4 miles away. Slightly further afield is Bath about 25 mins away, while the attractions of the Southern Cotswolds are all within an easy drive - including Cirencester, Tetbury (excellent for antiques) and Stow-on-the -Wold.

The village of Brinkworth is located in rural Wiltshire, 5 miles east of the market town of Malmesbury (itself about 6 miles west of Junction 16 of the M4). The village is believed to be the longest 'little village' in England, we're not sure of this feat! There is one pub in Brinkworth, within easy walking distance of the holiday cottage. There is a village shop and another in the neighbouring village of Great Somerford (3 miles) with more shops and services in Royal Wootton Bassett incl. a large Sainsbury, 5 miles away. Waitrose are in Malmesbury open 7 dys/wk

Of particular interest is the Farmer's Market which comes to the village every Wednesday.

The ancient capital of the Cotswolds Cirencester is approx 20 mins away where there is an excellent selection of shops, restaurants, pubs and attractions making it well worth a visit during your stay. Slightly further afield is Bath which is approximately 25 mins away, while the attractions of the Southern Cotswolds are all within an easy drive - including Cirencester, Tetbury (excellent for antiques) and Malmesbury.

My girlfriend and I came here for our anniversary and it was just perfect. The beautiful landscape was amazing and it was quiet and peaceful. The barn was very clean and well-equipped for all that you would need. Charles was a great host and nothing was any trouble for him. We felt very welcome and would not hesitate for a second to recommend this place. We are already looking forward to going back.

We really enjoyed our short break in the barn. It's a great location and really quiet. It was also brilliant for walking our dog who also loved running about in the enclosed tennis court. The barn itself has everything you need and we particular enjoyed the log fire. Would love to return in the spring/summer to explore the countryside further. All in all, a great way to spend New Year's Eve. Thanks Charles for your hospitality.

We loved our 3 night stay at this wonderful secluded barn. Perfectly located in countryside, only a short drive to town for shops / supermarket. Easy drive to Bath and Swindon. Spacious, cosy, warm with great radiators and a log burning fire. Super quiet and relaxing. Really had everything we needed and more. We'd love to go back! Charles was super helpful and a great host. Fully recommend!
