What a great host! Jason was every bit of accommodating. We needed a place the same day and he responded with in minutes. When we arrived he was very organized and helpful. We had a small issue with water pressure and he took care of that right away. The place was nice and close to lots of great things. We really felt we made a great choice. The other guests were also friendly and the shared kitchen made it feel even more communal. Great place! Stay here!

As others have said this is more of a hostel than a typical Airbnb. We did not meet Jason (he apparently lives down the street) but James met us and showed us around. Jason was very available via email. The building is conveniently located about 10 min walk from the bus terminal and is large and beautiful with two gardens and a huge kitchen. Our room (16) was the only room with AC (which worked well) and had a lovely balcony with table and chairs. Our room had a good firm bed and a very practical storage rack for packs and hanging clothes. The wifi worked well. Our only issue was water. Our room only had water for the sink about half the time and the shower and toilet had it less than that. Water availability would come and go erratically, so we never knew when we would be able to shower, wash our hands or flush the toilet. We contacted Jason about this issue and he said it was due to low water pressure from the city and he thought perhaps they were rationing water during the dry season. The kitchen always seemed to have water and pressure even when we didn't. One other issue was the lack of purified drinking water available for guests which we had come to expect based on our 5 weeks in country.

We enjoyed the camaraderie of the (longer stay) fellow people. That was the one thing that stands out the most from our León stay in general. Great big kitchen, which allowed us to really cook, and enjoy the produce from the close-by Mercado. The garden area quite an oasis, quiet and added a lot of 'breathing room' from the hot streets.

Jason was helpful and had someone there for us when we arrived to give the keys and some helpful directions. the place is about 10-15 min walk to the cathedral but feels a bit isolated at night. we had the room with an AC and it worked great after Jason came by and showed us how to sort of deal with it lol. adorable garden with hammocks. please note that this place is more of a hostel than a usual airbnb, very american in style (rules, cameras, fridge spaces). wifi works well.

Not so much an AirBnB, more a hostel with long term residents. But we knew that when booking. Jason was quick to respond to all messages and check in was easy. 4-5 blocks from the centre, easy walk during the day but a cab ride back at night, especially if you're on your own.

What an easy, enjoyable stay we had in Leon, thanks to Jason. He arranged our pickup from the Managua airport and taxi to Leon. The room was comfortable (AC was great) and all of the amenities we could ask for. We had a great time!

Well, I'm a very very laid back guy. I enjoy getting up in the morning for some lovely Nicaraguan coffee and relaxing in my terrace for some quite time. My wife and I take care of the house with the help of some cleaning ladies. We love traveling Nicaragua and meeting all kinds of new people. I enjoy building relationships with my guest and helping them get around Nica and such. Some of us go out to eat together often or join together for a big meal. We also travel to neat destinations to enjoy the beauty of Nica.

I grew up in the mountains of North Carolina and then moved to Washington DC to chase the American Dream, but after 6 years realized being trapped in work meant no freedom. A few years ago I visited Nicaragua to volunteer my time. After that I kept returning to help and then decided to come long term and fell in love, got married and we have a little baby girl and here we stay!

Harvest House Nicaragua serves many purposes and I hope you come and stay!
