Only 10mins walk to the sea front, just at the beginning of the bustling high street a stunning eclectic artisans fisherman's shutter board terraced cottage, 3 large double bedrooms over 3 floors. Suitable for friends to share or families.

The space

The space is full of quirky oil paintings and antique finds, which makes the house unique and interesting but cozy and cool at the same time. The beds all have luscious feather duvets on and feather pillows with white waffle bedding. Tea towels in the kitchen and hand towels in the bathrooms with basic cleaning products. If you need bath towels for personal use then these are charged as extra £10per room or you can bring your own. Please ensure you request these at the time of booking if you do need us to provide them.

Guest access

The whole lovely house and garden will be all yours for your stay. The bathroom has a full sized bath with an excellent powerful over bath shower, WC and sink on the ground floor. Their is a second WC and sink off the second floor landing. There is a large seated area outside (the fab stripy cushions for it are kept under the stairs) perfect for lazy sunny summer evenings with drinks there is also a large parasol for when it's simply too sunny.

Interaction with guests

You will either be greeted by our host Maddy if she is free otherwise you will be left the key in the key safe, you won't be disturbed during your stay unless there is a problem. The house keeper lives doors away.

Other things to note

During bank holidays and over half term, Easter etc we have a minimum of 3 nights stay.

During the Whitstable oyster festival and summer holiday season throughout July and August we only take week long bookings I'm afraid. (The oyster festival is Thursday 23rd July to Sunday 2nd of August)

If you're a foodie We might suggest you book a place at Wheelers if there is availability, it's simply delicious but very tiny so advanced bookings always recommended, or in Seasalter there is a fab restaurant called the Sportsman, opt for the tasting menu.

The Fisherman's Rest is absolutely wonderful. From the minute we walked through the door we felt an instant sense of peace and calm. The cottage itself is stunning, Kate and James have done such a brilliant job and there is so much attention to detail! The beds deserve a special mention- every one of them is super comfy and we all slept so well during our stay! Lovely bathroom and gorgeous garden too, only a five minute walk from the shops and a 10 minute walk to the beach. All in all the perfect package for a stay in Whitstable. Communication with Kate was excellent and she provided us with a ton of local information and tips. I can't recommend highly enough.

Kate's cottage was the perfect spot for my mother's 87th Birthday weekend! It is very cosy and beautifully decorated. The beds are all extremely comfortable and there is a loo on both the first and ground floors. The kitchen is very well equipped and we had a great dinner party at the round dining table. The location is perfect being away from the high street, which can be noisy at the weekends, but a short walk to the beach and restaurants. Thank you Kate for a memorable weekend!

We had a fabulous 2 night stay at Kate's cottage in Whitstable. Super interiors, good location and comfortable beds. We would highly recommend The Fishermans Rest. Just to note the stairs to the attic bedroom are tiny but you are rewarded with a gorgeous room once up there. X

Absolutely stunning home and Kate is a such a super host as well. Could not recommend anymore! The location is perfect for Whitstable stays and priced so well compared to what else is out there. The Fishermans Rest is a home packed with great attention to detail, such a well planned and thought out house which allowed such an enjoyable stay for my family and I. If you get great weather the garden is absolutely lush to enjoy it in, we had breakfast and dinner outside each day. It's a total sun trap with a great seating arrangement! Definitely stay here if you're heading to Whitstable and have a fond love for vintage like I do : if this house ever went on the market I would nab it straight away!

We had a lovely stay in Kate's place. She has filled the house with a lot of personal and quirky artwork which makes it feel a lot more interesting than most of the bland places we've previously rented. The location is convenient for the town. Communication was quick and easy.
