About this listing

This lovely clean twin room perfect for either 1 or 2 people. I am happy to do short term but would prefer longer stays.......

The space

A lovely bright clean twin room suits one person or two people , in a friendly Dublin house. This room would ideally suit somebody looking for a long term let . The house is a 1930s period property and would be fairly typical of the type of house that a lot of Irish people live in........ I will be here to get you started , I also make short trips to the West of Ireland a lot so sometimes you and my other guests will have the house to yourselves. You will have the run of the house, and will be given a door key so you can come and go as you wish, and when you are not out exploring the city you are welcome to use the kitchen to cook in, or the sitting room to curl up by the open fire with our slightly mad cat ,and a good book, or watch some telly or avail of the WiFi .If the weather is fine you can sit out in the very private garden and even have a BBQ if you like. Located about 4 kms from the city center ,in a quiet residential area, which has supermarkets, a post office, a chemist, and parks on the doorstep and a selection of restaurants and local pubs about 15 away . Or if you want to pop into the city, the bus stops just at the end of our little cul de sac and it will have you there in approx 25 mins. .The room itself has many little extras, like a kettle, tea, coffee and biscuits if you fancy a late night snack, lots of books to peruse ,maps of the area so you won't get lost, practical things like an electric blanket to keep you cosy, towels, extra bedding , pillows,. Breakfast is included in the price ,I will provide lots of breakfast items i.e tea, coffee, bread, eggs , yogurt, honey etc, and you are welcome to cook it yourself at any time you want, so if you fancy breakfast at 7am or 3pm that is just fine, ...... So we look forward to your visit ..............Note my house is a normal Dublin house, it is not a hotel or hostel, and this is not an ensuite situation, I try really hard to make you feel at home and to give you as much info about getting around Dublin as possible....I am very happy to do long term as well as short, so if you think that this would suit let me know...regards barbara

I am in the process of moving to Dublin for a new job and I stayed at Barbara's place while I conducted my apartment search. I had never been to Ireland before and was completely new to everything here. I lucked out by having the pleasure to stay Barbara's place. Not only was my room clean, quiet, and comfortable, but the location was perfect. A short bus ride to the city center and a great safe central location to start my apartment hunt. Barbara was a wealth of knowledge and really helped me get started. She helped me understand the public transportation system and gave me great advice on the best neighborhoods to target. She is a kind and caring person who will go out of her way to make sure you are comfortable. The other guests that were staying with Barbara on a long term basis were great as well and very friendly. It felt like a family away from home and I had a great experience. I highly recommend Barbara's place.

Barbara was the perfect hostess and made us feel very welcome. She even offered to pick us up in the airport. I can only recommend staying at her house.

Barbara is a warm, friendly open minded women. She welcomed us with an open door. ;-). The room was splendid and Katrien and I had a restful and relaxed stay. Barbara gave us a lot of information. We met 3 other guests, students, each of them rented for a longer time a private room in Barbara's house. So her place felt like a warm family home. What Katrien and I regret is that there exists not a detailed scheme or overview from the public transport in the whole Dublin city as there is from the metro's and buses in every big city. If so a passanger could have the possibility to hop on and off from the bus at the places he wants and take the number he needs. An app exists but without a plan; people has to fill in streetnames ;-(. We discovered by experience that bus number 15A (alsoo nearby Barbara's place, on the Terenure Road West) goes directly to Grand Canal Dock, an interesting place for lovers of new architecture.

Barbara was an extremely friendly host who was very helpful and welcoming. We loved her home and our room was cute and clean. She provided ample space in the kitchen for our own stuff as well as giving us many options for breakfast. The garden was beautiful!

Hi I'm Barbara, and I am a great fan of AIRBNB , I first used it myself to find accommodation in Brooklyn a while ago, and it was such a good experience I decided to become a host, and now I am a total convert. I have been letting out a room on either a long or short term basis for many years , but just love the Airbnb way of doing things. My favorite things are travel and anything art/design/craft related, My background is in theatre design and the craft industry , but these days I am taking time out to decide that to do with the next part of my life !! I love meeting new people from different parts of the world, and would like you to feel at home here. ....If you are new to airbnb and maybe a bit nervous, go on try it , really it is so much better than any standard bnb or hostel
