Description

The space

This recently converted loft room offers you the whole of the top floor of the house with a private ensuite bathroom and your own "front door". It has a kingsize bed and plenty of space with a desk next to windows offering a sweeping view south over Bath. It provides a comfortable and relaxing room for two people.

Guest access

A do it yourself continental breakfast will be left out for you in the kitchen-dining room. Guests are also welcome to make themselves hot drinks in the kitchen, but not to bring in their own food to cook. The rear garden is available for you to eat outside or simply relax in fine weather.

Interaction with guests

We shall normally be present during your stay and can offer advice if requested on local attractions, travel etc., but only if you want it! We won't interfere.

The neighbourhood

We live in a small, beautiful world-heritage city and have an easy and pleasant walk into the centre. There are convenience shops, pubs, a pharmacy and a café within a few hundred yards of us, while a 7 minute
downhill walk will take you to Larkhall, our local village, which has a good range of shops including a supermarket, takeaways and an excellent deli as well as another café. We even have our own theatre if you are looking for entertainment in the evening!

Getting around

You have a 20 minute walk - flat and then downhill - into central Bath. If you don't want to walk back up the hill there are buses every 15 minutes during the day. The bus station is right next to the train station. The nos. 6 and 7 buses (which leave from stand 9) will bring you straight here. Ask for Claremont Road when you buy your ticket.
There is free parking in our road and if you arrive after 9 am and before 5pm there are generally plenty of spaces available. If you arrive in the evening then it will be harder after people get home from work.
From Bristol Airport there is a bus service running every hour to the bus station in Bath. A taxi costs £40-45 from Bristol.
Buses and trains run very frequently to London.

Other things to note

Remember the room is on the top floor - there are two flights of stairs to walk up. You need to be reasonably fit.

Lovely room and ensuite facilities with view across the city. Located in pleasant residential area within 10 minute walking distance of Bath city centre. We enjoyed a relaxed breakfast overlooking the garden. Sally and Barry made us feel very welcome. Highly recommended.

Easily the nicest airbnb I've stayed in and the most welcome I've been made to feel. Lovely room, with an excellent view out over Bath and a nice comfortable bed. Having an en-suite was really convenient. Laying on some breakfast for us was a nice extra.

Sally User ProfileSally is a superhost.

Barry (my husband) and I are both active retired. We enjoy travelling and have tried Airbnb as guests in Italy, Spain and New York. Our experience as guests has encouraged us to host in order to help fund future trips. In any case we find it fun and interesting to meet new people.

Our own holidays are usually independently planned, often with friends, and generally in Europe - we have a special weakness for Greece!

As hosts we aim to be friendly and helpful but only as and when our guests want or need advice and/or company.
