Stay in our comfortable double spare room in this traditional Cotswold village. 50 yards from our ace pub and 10 minutes to the market town of Cirencester via the famous village of Bibury. Enjoy the peace and quiet in our large, beautiful wildlife garden or take one of many lovely walks from the door - great for dog owners. We will be here to make you breakfast (homemade sourdough and eggs or locally made muesli) and endless tea whilst making suggestions of things for you to do or visit locally.
This little cottage retains its historical features and layout and is charmingly decorated: it is cool in the summer and cozy in the winter and we have the two fires burning whenever necessary. Our dogs are free to roam around (downstairs!) and love guests. We have a beautiful garden with prairie style planting in front to encourage wildlife, and two large meadows in the rear for the same reason. We bake handmade sourdough regularly through the week which we'd love for you to sample but if not, the pub is fantastic. The village is fantastically peaceful yet wonderfully accessible and you really can't beat being woken by the dawn chorus!
You will share a bathroom with us whilst our top floor is being renovated but there is a separate cloakroom downstairs. We are very clean and tidy. You can also use the kitchen to make tea and toast at any time; we usually eat at home and you are welcome to join if necessary but we are surrounded by great pubs, two of which are easily with walking distance. We do not have off-street parking but who does in an old village if they don't want to give up their garden!!
Interaction with guests
Toby and I work from home half the time and so there will always be one of us at least to recommend activities for you. We are keen walkers (dogs!) and so you can either join us or we can show you on a map. We also know of lots of beautiful local gardens or sites to visit. We are situated within the Cotswolds AONB but we are also close to the Forest of Dean and the Welsh Borders.
Other things to note
We want you to be our guests which is why we only let the house when we are around. This is our home, and we would like for you to appreciate that. If you are looking for something more formal, this is not your place!
