Davide is well-organized host who communicates very well. He runs a number of places throughout Italy, therefore you don't actually meet him. Davide showed great patience in guiding us to his apartment high above the sea and above Varazze in a place called Castagnabuona, at the very end of a small, windy road, where we were welcomed by Davide's very friendly local helpers. The apartment is part of a bigger apartment complex, comprising ca. 8 units. It really does have a wonderful view, it's very quiet, and superclean. The apartment is brand new, which has some advantages (mosquito screens on all windows) but it is 100% Ikea furnished which is functional but not exactly charming. It comfortably houses three, perhaps four people, ideal for a couple with child or three/four adults. Driving into town takes about 10 mins., walking downhill about 25 mins., there is also a bus. The apartment has a small terrace at the front door where you can sit comfortably for dinner. You can also use a larger terrace which is a flight of stairs down and belongs to another apartment (which is empty). This terrace is not really much use though, as it is completely empty. We were allowed to use the terrace that belongs to the top-floor apartment (owners were away) which is stunning. Unlike most Airbnb rentals, the apartment does not come with a set of basic supplies (like tea or coffee, salt, pepper etc.). This is no problem if you know it in advance and if you know that the nearest supermarket and bar are down in Varazze. Overall the place is nice, but it still needs some furnishing, like some deckchairs, summer bedding, and some more kitchen utensils.
