This memorable place is anything but ordinary- a hidden oasis in central London. A stunning location surrounded by natural beauty right in the middle of all the best London has to offer.

The space
The accommodation is beautifully designed. It comprises a double master raised bed. The sofa converts in to a double bed and an extra single mattress can be provided so a maximum of 5 people can stay on board. The boat is perfect for a romantic getaway for two, or would be great for a family looking for an alternative, fun holiday.
The living area comprises a lounge seating area, and an office space with wifi and desk. There is a stainless steel kitchen, with a Smeg gas oven and hob, a good size fridge with freezer compartment, a sink and draining board, cupboards and shelves housing all the usual kitchen equipment.
The bathroom has a walk in wet room with modern exposed pipe work .
The WC is a compost toilet which would usually have to be emptied by the host every 3- 5 days. Water is held in a tank on-board and needs topping up once a week (depending on your usage). This will be done by your host.
In the winter months heating is by the solid fuel stove which burns a combination of smokeless coal and logs which are provided. The stove can be controlled and kept going 24 hours but you need to allow for this in your daily routine....ie loading stove before going out and a little attention on your return. It keeps the boat warm and cosy. There is also a Webasto central heating system which heats the radiators and hot water. The boat is on mains shore line so there are two oil filled heaters provided as well so you will always be warm.
Living on board is not quite like a conventional house and needs an understanding and patience- it may therefore not be for everyone. As an example the engine needs to be run for one hour a day to heat the water and power batteries.

Neighbourhood highlights

Little Venice, with its beautiful canals and waterways, can be found just to the north of Paddington. Positioned where the Grand Union and Regent’s canals meet, this picturesque neighbourhood is home to quirky waterside cafes, cosy pubs and charming restaurants. From canal boat rides to puppet shows, there are plenty of things to do in this charming London area.

Things to do in Little Venice
Explore atmospheric Regent’s Canal, which starts from Little Venice and ends in the Docklands, passing the likes of ZSL London Zoo and Camden Town. Walk downstream past the elegant Regency streets of Maida Vale and on to Regent’s Park and Camden, or follow this peaceful corridor upstream to the west and enjoy the tranquility of the canals.

If you’d rather take to the water, embark on an exciting canal trip by narrowboat with Jason's Trip, Jenny Wren Canal Cruises and the London Waterbus, which take you from Little Venice to Camden Lock Market in around 45 minutes.

Little Venice also boasts some of the most interesting independent theatre venues in London. Catch award-winning fringe and comedy from the candlelit tables of the Canal Café Theatre, or enjoy a show at the Puppet Theatre Barge, a real theatre on a canal boat. For free entertainment in the summer months, head to nearby Sheldon Square’s amphitheatre which puts on a series of events.

Sports fans should pay a visit to the Lord’s Cricket Ground, a little further along the waterway. Here, there’s the chance to learn about the history of cricket during a tour of the famous ground and its museum.

Food and drink in Little Venice
Whether you’re looking for a relaxing spot by the canal or a traditional pub, you’ll find the perfect stop-off at one of Little Venice’s best cafes and restaurants.

Treat yourself to fresh seafood and fabulous views at The Summerhouse, an elegant canal-side restaurant; or soak in the sun on The Waterway’s wide terrace. Indulge in sleek Chinese cuisine at Pearl Liang, or tuck into some comfort food at neighbourhood cafe Molly’s. For a pint or two, look no further than The Bridge House, a traditional British pub overlooking the canal.

How to get to Little Venice
Little Venice is conveniently located less than 10 minutes from Paddington train and Tube stations. Leave the station using the Grand Union Canal exit and walk north on the pedestrian street following the signs to Little Venice, all straight to the canals.

Alternatively, you can reach Little Venice from Warwick Avenue’s Tube station with a five-minute walk. From the station, head south on Warwick Avenue and you’ll soon find Rembrandt Gardens and the waterways on your right hand side.
