In amongst beautiful countryside lies our lovely one bedroom Cottage with large double bed, woodburning stove and sofa bed in the open plan kitchen/lounge. Ideal for a walking holiday and total relaxation away from the hustle and bustle of city life.

The space
In amongst thousands of acres of beautiful countryside sits Ballimore Farm Estate with its own fishing Loch and Ben Cruachan as its backdrop.
The Cottage, adjacent to the Baron's House enjoys uninterrupted beautiful views over the Estate, down to the Loch and beyond. Sheep and Highland cows are our neighbours. This location - away from main roads and busy cities - this holiday home provides the ideal space to sit back, breathe in the pure Scottish Highland air and simply relax.

Guest access
In Scotland you generally have the 'right to roam' which means as long as you adhere to the Scottish Outdoor Access Code you have the right to access most land and inland water including mountains, moorland, woods and forests, grassland, fields, rivers and lochs, coastal areas, most parks and open spaces, golf courses (to cross them); day and night, providing you do so responsibly. You can undertake pastimes, family and social activities, horse riding, walking, cycling, climbing.
Be aware - you do not have the right to access houses or gardens or places such as non-residential buildings and associated land, sports or playing fields when in use.

Other things to note
The main heating in the Cottage is the wood burner, which powers the underfloor heating. We do provide electric heaters but encourage our guests to use the eco-friendly alternative. We advise our guests to buy a bag of kindling, logs or coal (at a petrol station) before their arrival to ensure the fire will keep going over night.

Please be aware we are a working farm, which means that during lambing we do not accept bookings with dogs and due to allergies we can not accommodate cats.

Neighbourhood highlights

Ballimore Farm is simply a beautiful place!
Even though Glasgow is less than a two hour drive away, Oban a mere 30 minutes and Taynuilt only 6 miles the Estate - feels rural and remote - perfect if that is what you are looking for!

My work: Ballimore Farm Estate
Speaks English and German
We moved to the Scottish West Coast 10 years ago and have thoroughly embraced our new life in The Scottish Countryside. We enjoy living on our farm in the hills behind Oban, raising our children and looking after our sheep and highland cows. Not always having mobile phone reception or access to internet is not unusual around this part of the country but we feel lucky for having found our ‘home’ and we thrive to show our guests the astonishing beauty of the rugged and sometimes wild of Argyll.
