The space

This is the second unit in a property consisting of a villa ((listing "Unique 300 yr.old restored Villa") + Guest House, both estimated to be over 300 years old. The original structure has been restored and architecturally reinterpreted, incorporating both traditional and modern elements.

The Guest House is very unique in that it was originally the bakery oven of the village. In fact, the bedroom is the actual oven where barley rusks were made. Just off the bedroom is the newly renovated bathroom. In addition, there is a living area and kitchenette with basic cooking facilities and direct access to the expansive terrace, shared with the villa.

The village of Mesa Gonia, or Episkopis Gonias, is very serene and tranquil, yet very close to Camari and the beautiful, black sand beach, restaurants, cafes, clubs, and shops. It boasts two wineries, and is home to the newly established Yellow Donkey Brewery. Take a stroll down and try out some of their great Yellow Donkey, Red Donkey or Crazy Donkey beer. Just down the road on the way to Camari is an utterly charming outdoor cinema, recently voted one of the top 25 in Europe. Besides showing the latest feature films (usually in English), they occasionally host live performances during the peak summer months.

Renting some kind of a vehicle is recommended (car, ATV, or motorbike) but local transport is available just down on the main road.

Lianne was an amazing host with plenty of good recommendations that made our trip to the island wonderful. The space was unique and simple, with all the comforts of home, and secluded but still an easy trip to any destination on the island.

Hello fellow travelers! I must say, Santorini is such a beautiful place. There are many hotels and resorts to stay at, but if you want a taste of the life that people who live here have, Lianne's home is perfect. My fiancé and our two year old daughter visited for one week because his brother was getting married. I fell in love the second we got here. The people here are so friendly, we were both taken aback. When we met Lianne, we were greeted with a smile and great warmth and I knew then that we'd made a great choice in our housing selection. Lianne is very knowledgeable when it comes to anything going on on the island. She is very personable and friendly too. First impressions mean a lot to me, and we were treated so nicely. There is about a 2-3 minute walk through the village to her home and once you get there you'll be in awe. It is absolutely beautiful with a breathtaking view of the surrounding village around you, as well as the mountains to the sky. When we walked in, there were more smiles to be had. The home was clean, bright, and airy. She even brought us some traditional Greek pastries when we first arrived. Lianne was always available if we had questions on where to eat, or needed directions to the best beaches. She gave us suggestions on the top tourist attractions and made our stay feel very welcoming. Honestly, she's just fabulous! I really loved Santorini, and while we were there I swear to you time literally stood still. I'm from USA, and life is always hectic and on the go. Being there for one week felt like the best eternity. And by the way, the wedding was fantastic :) All in all, I have no complaints, just one regret: Not staying longer!! Thank you so much Lianne for opening your home up to us. You really did make our trip worthwhile.

Lianne was super helpful and responsive from restaurant suggestions to car rentals. We loved our stay on the island and loved coming back to our own quiet villa from the chaos of all the tourists. Highly recommend!

Staying at Lianne's beautiful guest home was such a treat! We could not have asked for a better experience. Lianne provided us with recommendations for where to eat, shop, sightsee, a super fun fishing trip and a best kept secret for where to watch the most amazing sunset! And many more awesome tips and recommendations. She was an awesome host and the village was a really nice hideaway from the busy tourist area. We highly recommend booking your stay here!

We had a fabulous time in Santorini and I can confirm that Lianne is a fabulous host. The guest house is slightly away from the hubbub which is exactly what we were looking for and so it was essential to have a rented vehicle of some sort. We hired a quadbike and it was great fun and an easy way to get around the island. The guest house was perfect: clean, spacious and authentic. Lianne has done a fantastic job restoring what was once the bakery. Santorini is a small island and so as long as you have some sort of vehicle you can easily get to all the beaches and towns such as Fira and Oia as well as the airport. Returning back to our guest house after a long day of exploring was like returning back to a sanctuary. There is a beautiful outdoor area with seating and a wonderful view of the sea. We often ate breakfast there or enjoyed a glass of wine in the evenings (sourced from one of the local wineries). This is somewhere I would highly recommend and beats all the hotels and tourists traps you could find yourselves in. It's an ideal combination of rural, authentic island life and pure luxury and serenity. Thank you so much Lianne for making our holiday so memorable.

Hello! My name is Lianne. I live on the beautiful island of Santorini,Greece. I am a teacher. Through the years I've had the great opportunity to live in several countries and to host many interesting people from all over the world.

I was drawn to Greece long ago (I believe it was from a previous lifetime!) & have always been impressed with Greek hospitality.... that is something I try to replicate with everyone who stays here. I feel as if they are my own, personal guests.
