Situated in the idyllic countryside of West Cork, Sycamore Grove is attached to the owner’s home on a five-acre smallholding on the outskirts of Drinagh. This picturesque stone cottage is an ideal destination for couples who want to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life and relax in quiet surroundings, whilst still being close to the many highlights of West Cork.
The open plan living area has a woodburning stove and leads up two steps into a comfortable en-suite bedroom, while outside there is a lawned garden with furniture and a barbecue. You are welcome to explore the smallholding and meet the pigs, sheep, ducks and hens that live there, or browse through the owner’s vegetable garden, where the owner grows his produce for the renowned Bantry Farmer’s Market, and select seasonal vegetables to prepare a delicious meal with in the well-equipped kitchen.
The owners are keen birdwatchers and try to work with nature wherever possible so they will be on hand to offer any guidance and advice regarding the local wildlife and walks. The cottage is located on the edge of the village of Drinagh, which can provide for your basic needs and is a great base from which to explore West Cork and the Wild Atlantic Way. If you wish to travel a little further away, Cork City is within easy reach and perfect for a day of shopping and trying out the local culture, pubs and restaurants. A fantastic holiday cottage for couples, which should be booked immediately to avoid disappointment!
From mid-April to the end of May our minimum stay is 3 nights commencing on a Saturday only. If you would like to arrive on a Sunday, Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday during this period please contact us to arrange. When you stay with us for 7 nights you get 1 night included for FREE (7 nights for the price of 6 nights). Please enquire about the possibility of shorter stays. The remainder of the year has a minimum stay of two nights with flexible check-in day.
One double bedroom with king size bed and en-suite shower, basin and WC and open plan living area with kitchen, dining area and sitting area with woodburning stove all located on one floor. Outside there is a lawned garden with furniture and a barbecue. Drinagh is a small, quiet village in County Cork, Ireland, found just a short way off the road from Cork to Bantry. The village is ideally situated 16km from the beautiful fishing villages of Glandore and Union Hall, and 14km from the bustling market town of Skibbereen. With two pubs and grocery stores within walking distance, this traditional Irish farming village will tend to your everyday needs and also has a tennis court, should you wish to practice your serve. Alternatively, go for a picnic on the edge of Curraghalickey Lake located just 3km east of the village, or visit the nearby village of Drimoleague, which boasts many fine waymarked walks and is an extension of the Sheep’s Head walks. The beautiful Blue Flag beach of The Warren in Rosscarbery is only 16km away, the perfect place for an invigorating dip in the Atlantic Ocean. In the heart of West Cork, the village of Drinagh makes an ideal base from which to explore this beautiful area and the Wild Atlantic Way, with easy access to the main large tourist towns of Skibbereen, Clonakility and Bantry and also the many small pretty seaside villages.
