Elke was a great host and made us feel very welcome. She gave us loads of very useful information and we would highly recommend her as a host. We would love to come back to Cape Cod, would probably stay in a different location, but only to be closer to the beach. Elke is great!

Elke lives on site, and it makes it easy to communicate. She is very sweet and helpful. The place is private and conveniently located. We loved the wooded area. Ocean beaches nearby are wonderful. Restaurants are close and serve a good seafood. Or you can grill your own. The house is well maintained, WiFi work well. The window A/C is located in dining room, so you can only rely on open windows in the bedrooms. We visited in August during hot weather, and could not have a good sleep. But this was the only misadventure.

Response from Elke:
Thank you for the feedback and for your stay with us, Elena :) Yes - Cape Cod in August is beautiful but usually our hottest temps of the year. If you would be more comfortable during a future stay, our other two cottages have central AC!! Glad you enjoyed your time here, and we wish you happy travels! This August was our family's first trip to the Cape. Elke's cottage was cozy, and charming. We enjoyed our stay there. Elke was very professional and thoughtful. She even made a delicious baked bread for my boys to eat when we were leaving (my husband and I had some too and it was delicious)! The property is lovely with so many beautiful flowers and plants. There's also a basketball hoop there we enjoyed. If you're looking for old style Cape Hospitality, you have found it at this great place!

While there were some communication hiccups in the beginning due to technology, I really appreciated that Elke was committed to getting things sorted out so we could book the cottage. Elke was flexible with our check-in time, given that we were driving from some distance. The cottage definitely has a "woodsy" feel, and I appreciated being not far from the walking/cycling trail. It was easy to relax in the Adirondack chairs in the yard area and appreciate the quiet...you wouldn't know that the property faces on to a major route through Cape Cod, as it is far back from the road.

Elke's cottage was everything we wished for. It was exceptionally clean and had all the things we needed for a comfortable stay. The woodland setting was beautiful and it was lovely to eat outside every day under the shade of the trees. It was easy to access the many wonderful beaches. Elke was generous with her knowledge of the area, its history and its wildlife. We would definitely come back for another visit.

We enjoyed our stay in Elke's cottage. She made us feel very welcome and she gave us information about all the things we asked. It was clean, the area was beautiful, woodland, the beach, cosy villages. A place to go back to!!!

We have really enjoyed our time at Elke's cottage! The cottage - the smallest of those she has - was spacious, very clean, nicely furnished and had a nice deck facing the woods and thus creating a feeling of privacy, The location was pretty convenient - a short walk to a bike path and about 10-15 min driving from Marconi and Beachcombers beaches in Wellfleet. Provincetown is about 30 min driving. Elke is perfect host - very welcoming and always prepared to help! We would definitely come back again and recommend this place to others.

Elke's love of Cape Cod started over forty years ago when she brought her family here and decided it was where she wanted her two sons to grow up.
Her love of nature, books, cooking and meaningful friendships preceded that. Myriad bird feeders and quintessential Cape Cod gardens are further examples of her caring nature and appreciation for the outdoors. Her hospitality is matched by her authenticity, and she's known for her can-do spirit, ready smile, and coveted Christmas cookies.
So many of her guests have become dear friends and return year after year (in some cases decade after decade!) to stay here and soak up the truly special environment that she's cultivated and preserved. It really is the best of Cape Cod, the way it used to be.

I had the immense blessing of growing up here and learned the spirit of hospitality from watching her. Taking "flower walks" through the gardens, having family meals around the picnic table, welcoming guests and working hard, she taught me the importance of integrity and living with purpose. I've inherited so many of her traits and carried them into my own pursuits as a private chef, artist, nature lover and proudly domestic Cape native.
I live close by and help with admin details among other things. We would both love to share with you the very special place we call Home, nestled in the beauty of the National Seashore (just a short drive from Coast Guard Beach where our profile picture was taken).
