Small, New England hill town - population about 1,500.
Access to Monadnock/Sunapee Hiking Trail (spur of Appalachian Trail) on the 82 acre property. Trail through woods to spring-fed pristine lake (mile-long/half mile wide) with beach: swimming area, dock, raft, picnic tables and barbecue facilities, public rest-rooms. Boat ramp access close by public beach. Town-maintained trails with maps,
25 miles of snow-mobile trails with map, 9 lakes of at least 10+ acres each, well-documented historic town center, public library, charming general store, close to kid friendly dairy farm in East Washington (where visitors can buy fresh milk, beef, pork and lamb, fruits, vegetables, jellies, gifts, etc. Also includes self guided farm tour), farmer's market every Saturday and 1 X/month in winter. 1/2 hour from Sunapee Mountain Ski Resort and Pats Peak Ski Area. Gorgeous autumn foliage.
Closest Restaurant is the Washington General Store, small but friendly. Hillsboro and Newport are each a little less than a half hour away and have several good restaurants. Grocery stores are: Washington General Store (small) and Shaw's in Newport and Hillsboro.

Peder and I now work part time at two local community colleges. We have taught English to Speakers of Other Languages in several countries and states, including the Marshall Islands and Oklahoma. In Washington, we live near snow mobile trails, the Monadnock-Sunapee Greenway, trails and canoeing opportunities at Pillsbury State Park, trails on Lovewell Mountain, and the town beach at Millen Lake. Blackberries, wild blueberries and cultivated blueberries are abundant for all to pick.
