The space

The home is a Colonial/Farmhouse style. It is a new construction highlighted with a beach theme. The home offers lots of light by day with cool breezes in the evening with a southern exposure, bordering a nature preserve. The eastern side of the house highlights exceptional views from the private observation deck.
For sleeping, the home offers 4 bedrooms (one queen bed and three full size beds in each room, each with its own bathroom.) One of the bedrooms includes a twin upper bunk with full size futon below. Optional air bed is available if requested.

Guest access

Easy access to Smith Point Beach Park and use of house pool with outdoor shower and observation deck.

Interaction with guests

I would be present for your arrival (if needed) just to show you the house as I am mindful of my guests and would respect their privacy.
Interaction with them would be only if they were comfortable with that arrangement.

My guests should demonstrate proper behavior which is considerate of each other and of the home as well.
I trust guests will be the kind of individuals that are mindful of others and their property.

1. Smoking is not permitted in the house. Shoes should not be worn inside the house. Shoes should be left in the foyer or on the porch.
If you smoke, please do so outside away from any open windows and dispose of finished cigarettes properly.

2. Small pets are NOT permitted.
However in certain situations this can be granted only
at my discretion and will require prior approval before acceptance.

3. Respect the neighbors by reducing the volume of music after 9:00pm. House parties are not allowed.

4. People other than those in the initial guest party (maximum 8 people) may stay for the additional fee of $100 per person per night.

5. Please be considerate of the property and its furnishings. Please, No food or drink in the bedroom areas.

6. Please dispose of glass, metal, and plastic in their proper containers. Ensure top lid is secure to prevent racoons from accessing the trash.

7. Three cars can easily be parked in the driveway. Street parking is available but parking on the lawn is not permitted.

8. Linens, soap, shampoo, bath & beach towels are included. At the end of your stay it would be appreciated if would please place the used linens and towels in their respective bathtubs.

9. The home is a septic system, which is very effective; however, it will clog up if improper material is flushed. DO NOT FLUSH anything other than toilet paper. No hygiene or personal healthcare products should be flushed at anytime. If it is determined that hygiene and/or personal healthcare products have been flushed and clog the septic system, you could be responsible for charges.

10. No refunds will be given for storms unless cancellation falls within stated cancellation policy.

It was as described online. The location was excellent but you needed a car. Probably being British we do not always rely on cars but you do need one in Sherley.

Absolutely a wonderful and relaxing weekend for our Bridal Getaway. A bit windy on Thursday and Friday but gorgeous weather. I love the nature that was all around us. Great for the Autumn Equinox.

Well I witnessed the cleaning crew who left the house in immaculate condition as I completed my final check prior to leaving it to my guests who stayed for the week. Upon my return I noticed crumbs and small bits of food left in the sink and on the countertops. When this happens you will surely encounter get ants. Bedrooms and their adjoining bathrooms were left as always in pristine condition!

Plenty of space for our group of seven. Loved the full ensuites for each bedroom. Super convenient to Smith Point Beach. Great light and cross breeze (the weather was cool, so we had the AC off some of the days). Yard was the perfect size for cornhole, and open concept 2nd floor made eating and boardgaming easy peasy.

John was a great host, very responsive, and friendly guy. His home is amazing! The photos on airbnb don't do it justice. We started our day up on the roof deck watching the sunrise...totally awesome! He's 5 minutes from Smith's Point beach, and we drove there and parked free in the early morning and walked on the beach, which our daughter just loved (as did her parents!). John's house looks brand new, the beds were super comfortable, and his kitchen is totally outfitted. We dined in every day :-)). He has a large common room, which is lit so well, both from natural light, and a great lighting set-up, with comfortable furniture. Every room has a bathroom, which made our guests very comfortable, and of course the pool added another area to hang out. He has a large deck, with BBQ and chairs and table, which is designed really well, right off the back of the house. Also has an outdoor shower. Easy street and driveway parking, and a very safe and friendly neighborhood. We stayed for 4 nights, but really we wished we had stayed the whole week. There is just so much to enjoy in and around his home. To think that this cost us half of what a hotel would have cost for our party of 6, is hard to believe. This was a great deal, an enjoyable time, and a memorable vacation. Thank you John, we hope to be back next summer! If you're on the fence about this place, go for it, you will not be disappointed!

We had a great time in this beautiful home. It is very nicely maintained with a beautiful private outdoor pool. The beach and playground are within walking distance of the house. The host is very accomodating.

House is well kept and comfy with plenty of everything--dishes, silverware, towels etc. very comfy gathering place with nice pool and close to beach, restaurants etc. we had a great family visit!!
