The cottage is perfect - beautiful with plenty of space and everything you need. Jan was extremely helpful and welcoming and I had a fantastic and relaxing holiday. There are lovely walks as you leave the door and a great community shop around the corner so I only had to get in the car once or twice during the whole two weeks which was exactly what I wanted.

Jan's place is beautiful, the perfect cosy retreat and with some lovely walking trails nearby. Thanks so much for being so welcoming Jan and for having us to stay in your beautiful cottage after a rainy week cycle touring!

We all had a great stay at Beechbank Cottage over new year. The cottage is beautiful and is very well equipped. The surrounding area was great for walks with our dog and we even got to meet the resident red squirrel, which was a great experience. Highly recommended. Thanks to Jan for a wonderful stay. We will be back x

Absolutely gorgeous cosy cottage - the pics don't do it justice! Perfect size for our party of two families and brilliantly equipped. In a lovely location with pretty walks right on the doorstep and vhandy small play park right across the street for our young children. Jan was so friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. Would def recommend!

The cottage is beautiful and is very well decorated and equipped!! The village itself is peaceful and we visited one of the local pubs on an evening which was certainly different to the pubs in Newcastle :)!! Unfortunately Jan was feeling unwell this weekend, but this didn't matter at all as she kept up contact throughout the weekend and when I sent a query to her she responded very quickly. I wish we could have stayed here longer and explored the area more. If you are looking for more extreme activities, we booked with 'Nae Limits' to go Canyoning which was amazing (water was freezing) but they do lots of land and water activities! Will be recommending this cottage and will look forward to hopefully returning ourselves. Thanks Jan!

Response from Jan:
~Thanks Clarissa for the nice review - I was sorry not to meet you - I like that part of the connection with guests. The weekend goes quickly when your're having a short break but you certainly did an amazing experience Canyoning - sorry I put canoeing which is a little "less extreme" - brave, anyway. Hope you come back for another stay and experience Scottish rural life and see a bit more of this relaxing area, but with plenty of stuff to do nonetheless. thanks again. Jan.

Jan was very welcoming, telling us about the local area. The place is decorated amazingly with lots of handmade touches by Jan, if youre visiting you should check out her crafts for sale! The kitchen was excellently equipped, even resources to bake cakes- which we did. A red squirrel met us on arrival in the garden, which was lovely. Good parking, shop very close by.

Response from Jan:
Thank you so much Lucy - and friends Emma and Jamie. I am so glad you appreciated the cosiness of my cottage and its facilities - we have lots of local, on the spot amenities which is great if you dont fancy driving out for eating and shopping. The squirrels always gets plenty of "admirers" - you're right about the extra chair - I have a new sofa on order which will just add more comfitness to the sitting room - the large sofa is a very popular chilling out zone and much fought over! I believe. hoping to receive more delightful and interesting guests like yourselves to enjoy this part of Scotland. Many thanks guys A thanks for the compliments. Jan.
