Description

Situated on a working farm in an elevated position above the Vale of Strathmore, Ardormie Farm Cottage is an ideal base to relax and explore this wonderful area of Scotland. The cottage is light and airy with open views over the countryside.

A cottage in the countryside with wide open views. Ardormie Farm Cottage is cosy in the winter and has a great little patio for sitting outside in the summer. Everything you need is right here; a double bedroom, bathroom with bath and shower overhead, cosy sitting/dining room and a little kitchen fully equipped with cooker, fridge, microwave and all you need to make your stay just perfect.

We have just installed a new biomass boiler so the heating is provided from an entirely renewable energy source. Radiators have been fitted throughout and there is a thermostatic temperature control so you can set the temperature to suit. There is a washer/drier and outside in the steading the wood pellet boiler is heating a drying room which you are welcome to use for any wet outdoor gear.

The cottage is on a working farm. My neighbours breed and train sheep dogs, it's fascinating to watch them at work. The surrounding countryside is what you would expect of rural Perthshire - mountains, lochs, stunning views, rich history, peace and quiet. This is a great place to be based as there is much to explore.

The place is yours to enjoy. I live next door and I'm really happy to help with any questions you may have, there is also lots of local information available in the cottage. Although, sometimes I'm not at home, maybe I'm off staying in an airbnb somewhere else!

Guests have access to some wonderful open countryside. The Cateran Trail goes right through the farm and offers good well marked walking routes.
The cottage has it's own garden but there are no fences and guests are welcome to use the trampoline and the washing green. If you have a dog and want to keep it within the whole garden you are welcome to shut the gates into my courtyard and this should make it secure.

I'm always happy to help and answer questions and live right next door. Equally, I'm very happy to leave you in peace and everything in the cottage is pretty much self explanatory.

Great place, located on a farm. Very clean, spacious, good bed and well equipped, with a terrace and a nice view on green hills. Jill is a great host, perfect communication with her. She was very kind and flexible regarding check-in/-out. We can highly recommend this place to anybody who would like to hang out and enjoy the green countryside.

The cottage of Jill is simply amazing. A very calm and warm place in the foggy fields of Scotland. You can easily be trapped in the cozyness of this place. It was a very nice and romantic moment and everyone should taste it. Highly recommended.

The cottage is lovely and secluded, with the most gorgeous views right outside the door. We arrived to a warm cottage with the lights left on for us and couldn't have been happier! It really is a lovely space and has everything you need for a self catered trip. The kitchen and bathroom are great (the bath is divine for a soak) and the house manual is very comprehensive. The communication from Jill was excellent and we really couldn't have asked for anything more from a quiet new year get away from the world. If I had to describe the feel of the cottage - hygge definitely springs to mind!

We had a wonderful stay at Ardormie Farm Cottage. Jill was an excellent host, who had the cottage beautifully set up for our arrival, with the heating on and even a lovely note to welcome us. The cottage is well equipped, with a cosy interior and spacious layout. Jill has thought of everything, with an array of information on local attractions and a helpful manual about the cottage itself. The views are stunning, and the cottage is peaceful and quiet. Perfect for a getaway. We loved our time at Ardormie.

Jill User ProfileJill is a superhost.

Hi, I'm Jill. I discovered Airbnb when I visited America with my daughter. We stayed in some lovely places and I decided when I got home that it would be a good idea to list my own self catering cottage with Airbnb.
I live in a beautiful place with wide open views. Ardormie is a working farm so be prepared for sheep, dogs, chickens etc. The farm doesn't belong to me but I am lucky to have some friendly neighbours.
It's fairly quiet around here which suits me fine. I am however always happy to chat and if you need any information just let me know. As the cottage is self contained and self catering you are free to come and go as you please.
