Coming to Sant'Ermo is just like coming home for me. The quiet village with the lovely scenery, the friendly people, the warm colours. My house and little garden is a perfect haven and at the same time in the heart of all the best Italy has to offer.
The heart of my house is the kitchen, which has a rustic Italian kitchen with an old fireplace. There is access to the balcony from the living-room and from one of the two bedrooms. The view is no less than wonderful. Each bedroom has its little bathroom, and there is a washer in the kitchen. You dry your clothes from the balcony. The couch in the living-room doubles as an extra bed for two persons. There is also a foldaway baby cot and a stroller available.
You have access to the garden through the technical room downstairs. On the spacious terrace you can sunbathe or bring some chairs for enjoying the outdoors.
Interaction with guests
Our friend Elena will be your contact when living at our house. She is our next-door neighbor and has excellent knowledge of the area and can answer the most questions. She and her husband Francesco also offeres an Italian cooking course in their home. You can cook and have a nice meal in an Italian home, a genuine experience.
Other things to note
It is possible to buy wine in the village, but there are no ordinary shops. The nearest little grocery store is in Casciana Alta some 5 min. drive away. CA also has butcher. I recommend you to ask Elena about where to shop, she works at an eco-farm and also knows where to buy the best wines.
I expect to find the house in order - the way it was when you arrived.
Smoking is not allowed inside the flat, and please, do not throw cigarette butts in the garden or on the street.
I do not allow pets inside the house. If possible, do the laundry in the evening / night when electricity is cheaper.
I enjoy getting to know new people. I love travelling, and especially to Italy where I feel at home. I speak a little and understand some Italian. I understand German pretty well and speak some. Nature is my favourite place. I love music and litterature, and I write - preferrably poetry. I've published two collections of poems myself. I am a grandmother of two boys and have been with my husband since I was 17.My parents are dead and I have no siblings. My husband and I work together and spend our days together. I love his cooking, and we eat a lot of fish. 5 things I "cannot live without" - that would be: family, nature, friends, litterature, music
