Stunning large Iconic grade II listedVictorian building in the centre of Ashburton.on the edge of Dartmoor, with easy access to the A38 for exploring the South Hams

Guests can have the whole house and outdoor space.
There is a parking option at the rear of the property for 1 car included in the price. You can park another in tandem if required.

The neighbourhood

In the centre of a bustling small town between the sea and Dartmoor, 2 mins from the A38, between Exeter & Plymouth. Ashburton has lots of antique shops and lovely gift shops. There is a great deli round the corner, an award winning fish deli a few doors down & an artisan bakery on the other side of the road. Indian & Chinese takeaways a short walk and many pubs close by and a wine bar (No. 14) Ashburton is also the home of the award winning Ashburton cookery school

Getting around

There is a bus service locally and a train station in Newton Abbot ( 8 miles away). But to be honest I would bring your car or hire one to make the most of this beautiful part of the world.

This is a large property with masses of light, high ceilings, perfect for a family visit.

We can provide extra supplements of :
an extra fourth bedroom which has a double sofa bed on the Middle floor.

Parking is included for one car.

We would be happy for you to use our outside space /decking area but we don't want to disturb our neighbours, so quiet on the deck outside after 9pm please.

No smoking on the decking or pets inside the property. Please smoke outside the front of the property.

Great location for exploring Dartmoor, but enough to keep you entertained within walking distance too. Highly recommend The Silent Whistle, local pub with good pizza.

A traditional heritage building right at the town centre. This is definitely one of our best stays because of the size of the house, town and the natural beauty around. House is spacious, clean and modern. New kitchen and toilets with loads of utensils that can serve the big groups. Michael guided us with everything that we needed.A great place if you prefer a small town to explore Devon. Will highly recommend this place. The parking is quite tricky for large vehicles but trust me, it's definitely possible. We got loads of tips from friendly neighbours when I struggled to park my VW Transporter.

Michael was an excellent host, giving us some useful navigation advice before we arrived and an excellent guide to the property (with some pointers for Ashburton itself). We loved the property: lovely large rooms, very high ceilings, large windows that filled it with light, some striking views and it's located right in the centre of Ashburton. The espresso machine was an unexpected delight... Ashburton itself turned out to be a fabulous base (lots of delis, cafes and independent shops), close to the Moor and also easy access to the coast and the Riverfood Field Kitchen. Highly recommended!

Michael was great in advance of our visit, responding quickly to all of my questions. He was there when we arrived and was very friendly and helpful. The property is lovely, very spacious and well equipped. Location is great - perfect for us visiting relatives in Ashburton and would be brilliant for a break close to Dartmoor and the South Devon Coast. Would highly recommend.

We spent three nights in Bank House and would gladly have stayed longer. The facilities, location and condition were great, it really was a home from home.We all had a fantastic half term break. Thank you Michael!
