The City of Venice will enforce a new tourist tax for visitors staying overnight, starting from August 24th (with no retrospective effect). The decision was taken by the City Council last June 23rd, when the new tax regulations were approved.

Tariffs will vary according to season (there will be two fares, one for low and on for high season), location (three areas have been identified: Venice old town, the islands and the mainland) and to the type of accommodation (hotels, bb, campsites, holiday village, etc). In fact, there is a series of tax reductions foreseen for accommodation facilities located on the islands in the Lagoon (30%) or on the mainland (40%) and during low season (up to 50%). Children aged between 10 and 16 will pay half the tax fare, whereas those under 10 will not be charged at all.

The tax goes to a maximum of 2,50€ to a minimum of 0,90€ per person for day until 5 day of stay.

The place is well located in quiet and pleasent area. We stayed in this pleace in 6 people for 5 days and fully recomending this apartment. There is real Venice mood view through the windows. The person who introdeced us to the apartment was very friendly and also gave us many practical tips about the town. This apartment is worth to stay.

I read the reviews on this apartment again right before my visit and saw wifi, AC, front door lock, shower issues, bathroom smells like urine. We had none of them - wifi worked perfectly, just make sure you're paying close attention to the password. AC was great, front door lock worked fine, just a little tweak when you open the front door and shower worked perfectly - just really small and the bathroom smelled fine, lol. The location is awesome! You're close to a TON of shops, restaurants and attractions. You can definitely get lost! If you arrive by train like we did, when you go out to the grand canal to catch the water taxi, buy a pass and then go all the way to the left - Water taxi station "A" and take taxi 4.1. When you leave at the end of your trip, you'll want to take water taxi 4.2 since it goes the other way. As for the apartment, it is so close to being perfect, there are a few easy things that they could easily improve on to make it so much better... Washer/dryer smelled horrible after loads and loads of laundry being done by people who don't properly know how to use a front loader and air it out after use. The couch need to desperately be cleaned - it's pretty dirty.. The master bedroom comforter needed to be washed, I doubt it has been in a few weeks from the look of things and new pillows - it was like sleeping on nothing. One big thing that really bothered me though was that a worker entered the apartment while we were home without anyone notifying us. The person rang the bell (which there is no way I'm answering the door for strangers) and then used his key to enter. Nonchalantly walked in, said hi, grabbed a bag of linens or something from the utility room, asked how the apt. was and then left. My husband or could have not been presentable. They definitely needed to call or text me to tell me someone was coming over. BTW - all the other reviews are right, it's completely managed by a property management company. Not that I have an issue with that, but prior to my stay, they asked me to fill out a form at least 3 times after I initially filled it out. A little annoying. I would recommend staying here because of the location if they fix those items that I mentioned...

The location 'is good, but the indication' is bad. The house is good, but the house' is VERY hot. The air conditioning does not work properly. The beds are bad. The mattresses are very bad.

If you want to enjoy your stay in Venice...PLEASE DO NOT CHOOSE THIS AIRBNB. We had problems with the lock on the door. They did not show us how to open it and when we called the host and her assistant multiple times, no one answered. We also messaged several times on Airbnb and we received no answer. The shower did not work. It worked one time for one person on the first night, but after, there was no hot water. We were literally trying shower with 5 droplets of water at a time. We couldn't wash our hair for the 2 nights we stayed there and 1 person was able to, but only through washing in the sink. We contacted the host and maintenance about this and they said they would fix the lock and the shower but they never did. We came back to the apt in the 2nd night with no working shower and nothing fixed. On top of this, it was UNBEARABLY HOT. The AC did not reach any of the rooms and did not even get that cold in the first place. It was so hard to sleep because it was so hot and we were not able to get clean. The bathroom also constantly smelled of urine, even when we arrived. There were a lot of mosquitos and we had to spray bug spray on ourselves right before we went to sleep, so that we did not get bit. Even so, we did get bit. The host also did not greet us, we were greeted by an assistant, and did not answer our messages until the 2nd day after we had so many problems. This is run by a company that will not go to any effort to make your stay at least bearable. Venice was beautiful, but this apt really dampened our trip. Heed my warning.

Anyway what you wrote it's not true at all! In the Airbnb message - and Airbnb can also confirm this- there is just your message in the late evening where you said that the lock of the door is difficult to open. In the early morning when we have read the message we replyed to you asking if you solved the problem or if you need an help and in this case we sent you immedately someone to help you. You never replyed anymore in Airbnb! So why you said "We also messaged several times on Airbnb and we received no answer"? We sent anyway someone to check if everthing was fine and in this occasione we also checked and fixed the hot water, the a/c and the other aspects you undelined us. After that no heard from you anymore! Our maintenance service is available 7 days from the morning till the evening. If you have had other problems you could simply call us and we are always glad to come immedately in order to help our guests! We have not had problems with the previous or the next guests regarding the aspects you underlined. So we are sorry for your bad review but as already written, WHAT YOU STATED IT IS NOT TRUE AT ALL. The apartment was really good located in the centre of Venice, but in a more quiet part, that is very nice! We were six friends, going to the Biennale, for that the apartment was perfect. You should know that there is one bathroom for all six people and that two people are sleeping in the kitchen/living room, but if you know each other well, that is no problem. I would recommend the apartment!

Firstly this is not a normal Airbnb accomodation booking. Once you have paid through Airbnb and completed your booking, you receive an email where you have to fill out forms as it is an agency using Airbnb to sell their apartment. As we were traveling around Europe filling out this form proved to be very difficult and annoying as it would not work countless of times, there was constant back and forth emailing as I was very confused why I had to do this as I had already payed and completed my Airbnb process. I was frustrated as to why I had to do this as I have been using Airbnb many times and never had to do anything hassling like this. Once arriving in Venice they were helpful in picking us up from the water boat stop and walking us to the apartment. However not so helpful in how to get from the airport to the specific waterbus stop. Location is good. The apartment, there are no amenities, the aircon was horrible the first night no one could sleep it was incredible hot. The next day we did contact the agency who came and fixed it a little. But still incredible hot, more like a fan then aircon. You can not open the windows at night otherwise you will be bitten by mosquitoes. The wifi didn't work the first night as the password was given incorrectly and confusing, after that it worked and was fine. 2 of the 3 beds were comfortable. Shower was fine. Kitchen was good. Overall for the price, the annoyance of it being an agency using Airbnb, filling out forms and sleeping in a hot box at night I would not recommend staying here.

We have checked more times the air conditioning and it always results working: unfortunately in Venice in this period of time is really exteremely hot and humid and it is almost impossible to arrive to such low temperature inside the house as outside is so hot. But we do our best to make everything work normally. Regarding the wi-fi, the password is clearly written behind the moden, probably you confused some L in small letters with some i in capital letters as our maintenance staff suggest you. And infact after everything was working. Anyway we want to take this message as a suggest to improve our service and assure to our guest a nice stay with us! We hope to host you again in the future!
