Baba Ken and Mama D were amazing hosts. We arrived a bit later than we were expecting and they were more than willing to accommodate our lateness. They were full of amazing suggestions and kind conversation. We truly felt at home in their beautiful space.

Baba Ken and Mama D were the best hosts you could ever ask for. They have a very welcoming and comfortable home. I would recommend spending some time with them get ideas for places to go and just for great conversation. It's about a $10-12 Uber/Lyft ride to the French Quarter from the house and about $25-40 coming home at night (midnight and later).

Baba Ken and Mama D are some of the nicest coolest people I've ever met. I had such a great time staying at their place. I can't wait to visit them again. They went above and beyond to make me feel welcomed and comfortable. They have an amazing book collection. They're very wise and talented, and I learned some really cool things from them.

Came to NOLA on a couples trip for my girlfriend and a friend of ours birthday. Was greeted by Baba Ken and Momma Dee with nothing less than love. They started our trip off with great energy and helped us have a great time. Great conversations, good amount of laughter, and an amazing time during our recent stay. Close to everything, we used Uber when we weren't able to drive if you know what I mean, which was inexpensive due to where they are located! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND AIRBNB, which felt a lot like HOME!!!

My mom and I spent a week at The House of Tribes during the second weekend of Jazz Fest this year. Our accommodations and stay was beyond our expectations. Our hosts were gracious, selfless and humble. They went above and beyond the call of duty to make us feel at home. They even drove us to Walmart for ponchos (it rained all weekend). We're looking forward to our next visit to NOLA and The House of Tribes. Infinite stars!!!

Response from Baba Ken:
Thank you Brandon.....Mama D misses ya'll already. She said that next time ya'll are here she wants to have a "girls night out" with the ladies!

The House of Tribes is a writer's sanctuary and a free-thinking zone nestled amongst families of Blue Jays, Peach, Banana, Fig, Satsuma and Pecan trees. We have an EXCELLENT Jazz CD Collection and a Bose System for your listening pleasure. We also have a rare book collection that could make you miss or not miss the exciting New Orleans Social Scene!
