The living room is light, has a open kitchen and a little balcony with view over the canal where you see boats coming by. Interaction with guests

We will welcome you when you arrive. During your stay we won't be at the apartment. It's alway possible to contact us for questions or information.

The neighbourhood

Our place is just 2 minutes walk from the most favourite park Vondelpark. It's a huge park with water, lawns, cafe's, an open air podium where there is free music all summer. Also the tourist spot Leidse square with the famous music temple Paradiso is just 1,5km away. And it's also easy to visit the cosy 9 streets in the Jordaan and the brand new de Hallen for little shops, food & drinks and a cinema. There is a outside market as well. Both easy to walk from the apartment (1 and 2 km walk). Are you interested in visiting musea. Also no problem from our apartment. The Museum square where you can find the prominent musea the Rijksmuseum, Stedelijk museum and Van Gogh museum.
Not into a walk? No problem, the public transport around the corner can take you anywhere you want. In our neighborhood itself are some popular cafés and good restaurants.

Getting around

There are three trams (public transports) around the corner who can take you anywhere you want: Leidse square, Rembrandt square, Museum square, Jordaan, the Dam, Central Station. etc..

From Schiphol airport it's easy to get to our apartment by public transport. This takes 20-30 minutes (depends of the arrival times of the tram). You take the train to Amsterdam Central, but get out at the first stop called Lelylaan station. From there you take the tram (number 1) and get out at stop Rhijnvis Feithstraat (don't forget to bring money for the ticket in the tram. You can buy the ticket inside the tram). From there it's a 2 minute walk to our apartment.

You can take the taxi if you want. This will take just 15 minutes and costs around 30 euros.

Steven's mom met me and actually waited extra time for me to arrive as I had trouble making connections from the airport. She also gave me a quick map lesson on Amsterdam and made sure I understood some basics about the trams. The apartment is very comfortable and you get a great breeze between the back and front porches. There are actually 2 bathrooms and the washer and dryer worked well. Lots of handy appliances in the kitchen and a great view of a canal from the living room. There are several supermarkets within walking distance, a bakery, and several bars/restaurants as well. The corner market had great cherries. Down the street, I rented a good bike from Otto Bikes for 10 euros a day. There are also several quality wine stores nearby on Overtoom heading into the city. And Vondel Park, a few blocks away is great for a run or a stroll. To get from the airport to this place, I think it is simplest to go to Centraal Station and then take tram 1 to the Rhinjuis Feithstraat stop. I was sent another way with more connections and got confused and lost. Perhaps that is just me though.

I love this apartment. It's really exactly what I was looking for during my week in Amsterdam - lots of light, nice canal view from the living/dining room, quiet bedroom, comfy, easily accessible yet outside the busyness of central Amsterdam ... perfect. Steven was very helpful via email, and Annet was so nice to accommodate my late arrival. Everything in the apartment works well (wifi is great, kitchen is easy to use and has all the things you need, washer, 2 bathrooms (tub and shower), and the bed is so comfortable! There were honestly days where I had to force myself to go out because I just liked sitting at the table looking out over the canal. I think it looks better in person than in the photos, too. I know it sounds like I'm being overly positive, but I sincerely loved staying here. I would certainly recommend it and would definitely stay here again if/when I return to Amsterdam.

This is a great apartment in a real Amsterdam neighborhood. There are big doors that open at both ends, so the apartment is always filled with light & fresh air and the canal view provides a nice sense of space. Furnishings are homey & comfortable & Steven is an excellent host. I visit Amsterdam often & will definitely be back here.

Steven and his wife were very welcoming people. Steven's wife show me on a map she let in the appartment everything about the place to know (where is the street near the appartement to buy food,...). There's a beautiful park near the appartment. The appartment is very clean and is very nice. Thanks, Julie
