Ombretta was extremely helpful, friendly and punctual with her replies. Upon arrival at the apartment we were greeted by Ombretta's dad who welcomed us profusely and proceeded to give us an extensive tour of the accommodation. The apartment is set within the cliffs of Lake Como, offering a spectacular view from it's large windows. It is an bright and airy bedsit - perfect for a couple (but in my opinion no more than that). The resort is located in an ex 1960's hotel and has all the amenities of one, with a large swimming pool with panoramic views, tennis courts and a bar with coffee and beer. The apartment is just down from Valbrona, in a rather remote location, so a car is definitely needed. Overall we very much enjoyed our stay.

We had a really nice time here, it was different but i would recommend. The place is unusual to say the least. It is in a 1960s hotel where the rooms have been converted to bedsit's. It is in an amazing position overlooking the lake. The room was small (with a sofa bed) but really clean and newly furnished. The swimming pool was nice (you had to wear a swimming cap in the pool, these were provided by the host). There was a bar area that was open in the evenings. The clientele here was elderly but the view was breathtaking, one of the best I have ever seen. It is about 4k from the nearest town so you would bed a car or a bike.

We spent 3 days in Francesco's apartment and enjoyed our stay a lot! Francesco was very quick in replying to all my questions and his dad was perfect to welcome us! The apartment is small but it's a size for a couple. It has the set of all basic things you might need: kitchenware, towels, bedsheets, and even swimming pool chairs and bedcovers. The residence has amazing swimming pool, 15-20 m long, and nobody was there early morning or in the evening! There is also the bar with a grand terrace, for your morning coffee or evening drink! The residence is like a little town, where people know each other. They organise Zumba or Pilates lessons or lunch-aperitivo, where guests can also participate (better speak Italian) . It is a special place, used to be a hotel before. There is no internet in the apartment, there is some at the bar, but I write "some ", because it was not very good. Bar tender told us that when many people are connected, it does it work. The other thing to keep in mind is that the residence is isolated, so you really need a car, and you cannot really go out for a walk without a car. I should admit I chose this place because of the swimming pool and the view, and I was not deceived but was missing a bit "walking freedom" and concerts you might have at night in the villages. For people who stay there, here our ideas on how to spend your day: Day one. Como + West of the Como lake + Bellagio. Better on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, those are market days. Drive to Como early morning. Park via Torno (free) above Furnicolar and take Furnicolar to Brunate. Hiking, at least to the Faro. Go up the Faro, you will not regret it! Afterwards shopping in the town, nice and original shops. We had lunch at the market. Then drive along West lake side. We had a swim in one of the villages, then visited Villa Balbianello (closes at 6 pm!) Return by boat via Griate or Menaggio to Bellagio. Dinner in Bellagio (book in advance!!!) Day 2. East Lake Side. Hiking on Sentiere Verdante, Bellano - Varenna. Park at Bellano next to train station. So to Sentiere behind the station (mountain side). Walk about 2.5 hours, till Vezio Castle. Varenna lunch (we advice Il Prato), swim next to Royal hotel, Varenna visit, go back to Bellano by train ( less than 10 min). Bellano visit. Going back visiting any village on your way your like! Dinner at agriturismo La Selvaggia at Mandello del Lario (book well in advance!!!) Day 3. Bergamo. Hope you enjoy the stay!
