Interaction with guests

I love to get to know my guests but I respect their privacy, so my interaction is tailored to their needs.

The neighbourhood

I live in a great neighborhood with friendly neighbors and lots to do within a five block radius for adults and kids alike. If you're familiar with Uptown New Orleans, it's the best of city living but isolated enough that you can sit on the front porch on a nice quiet summer day.

Getting around

Four (4) blocks away from street car line that will take you downtown to the French Quarter for $1.25.

Martin is an amazing host! He is super friendly and accommodating!! His house is absolutely beautiful and welcoming; claw foot tub, wooden floors, comfy beds. It's right off oak street that is packed with bars and restaurants. His kitchen is stocked with anything you would need to cook AND there is an awesome grocery store called Simone's Market within walking distance. All around this is a perfect New Orleans spot!!

Martin is a great host. He was very hospitable and even offered to find my mom crawfish because she was craving some after typical restaurant hours. The apartment was very clean and comfortable! Would definitely stay here again!

Martin was really accomodating and made sure we had a very comfortable stay. He gave great restaurant recommendations and was easy to communicate with. His home was really clean and in a great location close to shops and restaurants. Definately recommend staying at his home!

Martin is the quintessential host! He made himself readily available to give any kind of recommendations and advice. Not only was he an excellent host, I can't say enough good things about his house. It was immaculate and beautifully decorated. It had everything anyone could ask for when staying as a guest in another person's house. The porch was also a nice added bonus which was ideal for enjoying the beautiful weather. For a brief moment, I felt a part of the wonderful community surrounding his house. His neighborhood had restaurants and bars that where simply around the corner and at times made me feel like I was a local. I could imagine myself staying here year after year and always having a warm welcome when I arrive.

Martin's listing page is what pulled me in. And his home was even better than I could have imagined. He was very kind to work with our arrival schedule and when we arrived he was there to give us the keys and show us around. Right off the bat, he felt like a friend and gave us some great recommendations for things to do in the neighborhood. They were all great spots! The house in just off of Oak Street, and it's a wonderful little neighborhood with coffee, specialty shops and some of New Orleans' best food. And it's a couple of blocks to the street car line which we rode throughout the weekend. We'd definitely stay here again!

Martin User ProfileMartin is a superhost.

I'm a PhD Candidate in Political Science, Photographer, and now AirBnB-er!

I love having people over/ meeting folks from all corners. I've been on vacation, studied, and worked on all but a couple continents. I was born and raised in DC, living in a Latin American household, and studying at a French School. Getting to know people from just about everywhere started early on for me!

I hope whomever stays in the apartment has a great time while they're here. New Orleans has a million and one things to offer any visitor and I'll gladly make myself available to point you in the right direction, make recommendations, or share the occasional evening cocktail on the front porch!
