Room in villa, in historical Carthage, 5 minutes from the beach, the ruins, 10 minutes from the airport.
Spacious, private room in a charming villa in Carthage, a city founded in the 9th century B.C. on the Gulf of Tunis.
Moncef, the host (my father), is passionate of history, culture and great food. In "Villa Hortensia", you'll feel just like at home. You'll explore the exciting sites the wider tunis has to offer, and come home to a cozy villa where - if you're lucky - my grandfather will meet you with a freshly made jasmine "machmoom".
The beach is literally 5 minutes walk from the property, Carthage Ruins - a world heritage UNESCO-listed site, is about 10 minutes walk. A supermarket (Monoprix) is 3 minutes walk, and the airport 15 minutes away. You can hop on the train and go explore Downtown Tunis, with its little cobbled streets and narrow walkways, or you can go explore the countless UNESCO and historical sites in and around Carthage.
The delightful little village of Sidi Bou Said is 10 minutes away by taxi/train.
Beach, archaeological sites, supermarket, shopping center, old Tunis, nightclubs, bars, world-renowned restaurants, and much more
Interaction with guests
My father (Moncef) is the host. He loves talking about Tunisia and where he grew up. Culture, food, politics, you name it, he always takes great pleasure in discussing these themes and sharing his knowledge!

The host is my father, Moncef. A great dad, full of surprises and knowledge! He enjoys great food (owned a bakery), politics, culture and art house movies. Our dog Tommy is the cutest and most quiet pet.
Moncef is always available to point you in the right direction, give you hints and tips and make your stay a great experience.
