We had a brilliant weekend at the wash house. It's a fantastic location right in the centre of Wirksworth, just a minute's walk from some great restaurants. We loved Le Mistral and Gino's (where the food was great even if the service was a little unusual!) and Mercia does a great brunch. We were lucky to have come to Wirksworth during the arts festival and caught some incredible late night jazz in the town hall. For a cute little town Wirksworth has a lot going on! The local scenery is stunning and we enjoyed a circular walk from Wirksworth to Black Rocks. Steve was a perfect host, extremely welcoming and full of advice about where to go and what to do. We felt completely at home. The wash house is full of character, a beautiful place for a cosy, romantic weekend - not a lot of space but very cute! The chocolates and amaretti biscuits were a lovely addition. I believe we were the first to use the new summer house which was a delightful place to spend a quiet afternoon reading. Wirksworth is charming and I would thoroughly recommend Steve and Sue's Wash House as a place to stay.

You won't get a better location that this quirky place to explore Wirksworth. Steve is very welcoming and informative. The ladder is steep and the bed is accessed by crawling so if you're tall/extra large/have mobility issues then this won't be the place for you.

The Wash house is cosy but at the same time is a little piece of luxury. There is a good range of local amenities literally on the doorstep. It is easy to explore the local area from here or just relax. A beautiful garden, cafetière, amaretto biscuits, chocolates and a record player - perfect treats and superb touches that add something special to the stay. We were warmly welcomed and were given some top tips to make the most of our stay.

This airbnb is absolutely beautiful. So stylish and cosy. Wirksworth itself is actually quite trendy. It's such a great little weekend away.

We enjoyed our stay in the Wash Room! It's very cosy and cute. If we visited Wirksworth again we will definitely consider staying here again! Steve is very inviting and was very helpful in giving us information about Wirksworth and what to there!

Steve was a really good host, he welcomed us happily and described Wirksworth and surroundings. Then he gave us some advices in terms of visits or restaurants. The Wash House has what you need: it's cosy, good wifi, nice facilities and lovely people. The sleeping platform is fine for most, but if you have any mobility issue it might not be for you... Beautifully furnished, we really enjoy the quirkiness of this appartement!

Great place if you fancy a quiet with easy access to the Peak District. Tranquil, right on the high street with a minute walking distance to bars restaurants and Gino's were the Pizza it's great! I would recommend anyone to stay here. The "room/house" was great, small sink, toaster, kettle, cafetiere, access to an independent fridge and freezer and a vinyl player. What else would you need! Last but not the least, you can walk from the house to the top of the hill (10 minutes) Stonewood Getting Away to the Stars. (should do it if clear sky) It is amazing. I will be coming back again.
