We had a fantastic stay. The house was comfortable with plenty of space, history and character. The owners were very friendly and accommodating, they gave us plenty of tips on what to do in the area. We had a great chat:). Loved the hot water bottles in the beds and the little fires on arrival. Felt like coming home - and we'd be very happy to come back one day. Thank you!

We loved our stay in the Portlaw. We rented the Barracks to spend Christmas with my family who were visiting from the US. We felt extremely welcomed by the hosts, they even put up some Christmas decorations for us. They drove us around town to show us where everything was and told us all about its history. The house is amazing, the pictures of the inside don't do it justice. It's beautifully decorated and feels cozy like home. Each of the beds was warmed with a hot water bottle which was a very nice and welcome touch. The space was perfect for the 8 of us including 2 children (9 and 11) and 2 teenagers. We arrived on Christmas eve and they still took the time out from their own celebrations to make sure we were taken care of. There is a lot of history to explore in the area and we would love to come back to see more!

I take pride in restoring old buildings and returning them back to the way they were meant to be shown. I enjoy walking and learning about local history and spotting the local wild life.
