About this listing
This one bedroom apartment is located in the Phoenix Arts district. Its on the 8th floor and has an incredible view of downtown Phoenix.
It is within walking distance of the light rail and has pool and gym access.
I am leaving June 30 and returning at the start of October. (These dates are flexible!) Id prefer to find someone who would like to rent for the entire time I am gone.
I am very hesitant to have a stranger in my apartment, so be patient with me and don't take it personally if I turn down a request!
This apartment is around 800 sq feet, and located in the Phoenix arts district. It is on the 8th floor and has a fantastic view of downtown phoenix. The floors are Mexican terracotta tiles and patio has large glass sliding doors that let in plenty of light.
This apartment has not been updated in quite some time, so there are a lot of knicks here and there, old pipes (you must keep screen in front of the drains), etc. These are all pretty minor.
This apartment is not for the squeamish. I collect many artifacts and natural objects as subjects for my work. This includes an extensive bone/skull collection, pickled organs and insects, taxidermy and other similar items. If you are not comfortable having these around you, this apartment may not be a good fit.
The building itself is historic and used to be a hotel in the 1960s. There is a laundry facility, pool, and gym on the 3rd floor. The pool has 4 cabanas and 2 grills. There is someone present at the front desk everyday of the week. You need keycard access to enter the building and use the elevator. My mail will be collected by the front desk.
The bed is full sized and I will clear a closet for guest use. Its huge and it should be plenty of space for clothing, shoes, etc. The bedroom has a HEPA air purifier, and a ceiling fan.
The bathroom has a shower/tub combo, toilet and sink. Pretty basic.
Its small, and has some wear and tear, but functions and still makes delicious food. It has a dishwasher, sink, oven and fridge. A guest has access to all my cooking gadgets and spices.
The futon pulls out into a full sized bed, but I must warn you, it is not comfortable.
All the art supplies will be stowed and a guest is welcome to read anything in my collection as long as it is returned. Please do not touch anything other than the books.
They need to be watered once a week. Pretty simple.
The best feature. The view is fantastic, you can watch the sunset on the right and summer storms roll in on the left. There are two patio chairs, a small table and a hummingbird feeder.
Also, FREE WIFI.
Interaction with guests
I would like to meet first before I make any decisions. If I do decide to rent out the space, Id like to give that person a tour and show them the building and apartment.
Roosevelt is a fantastic place to be. Restaurants everywhere, vegetarian, coffee shops, ice cream, a new pizza shop, and fine dining. The light rail train is 5 minutes walking distance. Large parks and the Japanese Garden are only a block away.
The light rail is $2 to ride and $4 for a day long pass. The station is about a 5 minute walk from the apartment.
GRID bikes are located throughout the area.
If you have a car, there is a reserved parking spot behind the building.
-Screens must be kept over kitchen and shower drains.
-Smoking is fine as long as its on the patio only.
-No throwing anything off the patio or making lots of noise outside late into the night.
