Close to downtown. Private self-contained cozy studio basement with own entrance in amazing hip neighbourhood. Steps away from the subway, shopping, restaurants, trending bars and more. Well equipped kitchen including microwave, coffeemaker.

PARKING: Is on the street, see cost below. I can arrange this if you tell me ahead of arrival.

PLEASE NOTE HEIGHT RESTRICTION BELOW!!!

PLEASE NOTE THERE IS AC BUT IT IS ONLY CONTROLLED UPSTAIRS. Please talk to me if it's too cold or too warm! :)

The space
Private cozy space with a queen bed. It's very clean and has a nice ambience. Well, I like it! :)

If a third person would like to stay I have a single mattress that I set down on the floor. It's quite comfortable. I don't charge extra. :)

The kitchen is stocked with dishes, cooking utensil's, microwave, coffee maker and more. There is also a small ironing board and iron. It's a fairly quiet space but there is the AC/furnace in the space which can be loud to some who are not used to it and others don't notice it at all.

I have a smart TV in the unit with a few local channels and a few apps including Amazon Prime. Sorry I don't have Netflix.

PLEASE NOTE HEIGHT RESTRICTION: It is a basement and although the ceiling is 6' 3" in most areas there is a vent that runs through it which is 5' 9" at it's lowest(along the wall) and 5'10" at the sink (please see pictures). The vent also runs in the shower lengthwise so part of the shower is 6'1" and part along the wall is 5'9". So...I've had guests who are 6'1 (maybe even 6'2") and seemed ok, though they were prepared. I've put some foam up but I would say up to 6' would be ok as long as they were prepared. :)

I also have AC but it's not controlled in the apartment. There is a fan and heater provided as well.

PARKING: Is on the street and you will have to pay. Very easy to arrange on line with the city and not expensive. I can arrange if you like. 24hrs: $10.71 48hrs: $16.07 1week: $25.10

AC: I have control of AC upstairs
I have always been communicative with regard to temperature - please just let me know if it's too cold or too warm and I will adjust. But please note I cannot turn it off as there are others living in the house. And I will certainly need it on during heat waves. I work at home and it can get stifling hot in Toronto. This is an older home and I do my best to keep it cool from top to bottom during those hot days. I cover the vents so it's never cold cold in the basement apartment but it is cool. :)

HEAT
I do have a heater in the apartment that keeps it cosy warm. I don't think it's really needed but it's there if needed.

Towels, shampoo, soap and hair dryer are all provided.

THERE IS NO WASHER/DRYER
There is a laundromat very close by. :)

TORONTO HAS PASSED NEW AIRBNB REGULATIONS!!!
Toronto City Council has passed new Airbnb regulations not allowing self contained secondary units within private homes to be rented out as short term units. What exactly determines a 'self contained' unit is still unclear. If I continue to host short term rentals I will have to remove the stove at some point and the space will be more like a bedroom suite with refrigerator, microwave, toaster and coffee.

Where you’ll be

Toronto, Ontario, Canada

I love Toronto and I love my neighbourhood. What makes this neighbourhood unique is it's variety of shops, restaurants and bars all within walking distance. African, Korean, Japanese, Mexican, and much much more. This is a rich community with a number of unique shops, parks, art galleries, cafe's, restaurants, markets and groceries all minutes away. Also near by: Tim Horton's, Gladstone Library, Beer store is at Dufferin Mall, Comedy club down the street and there LCBO at Ossington and Bloor and one at Galleria Mall.

I'm pretty easy going, calm, patient and well-organized. I've lead a few group trips including back country paddling up north, and day paddles here in Toronto. I like being in the moment, quiet serenity watching a moose ahead on a winding river. Or exploring the city and discovering interesting things about it. I like to cook a great meal and laugh among good friends, old and new. And at the end of the day it's nice to relax with a pint of beer or glass of wine.
